The reason I say this is because VIXY/VIX tails calls have super high IV, and they have been incredibly unprofitable as a hedging tool in 2022 when the market goes down.

In order of profitability in 2022 based on some backtest I found earlier: Individual stock puts > SPX (or other index) puts >>>> VIX /volatility calls


I mean I could be wrong and VIX could hit 40 in one day and you'd be rich but the thing is that idk if we're gonna get a real panic crash that would render the VIXY calls worth anything.....

The issue is that the market is pre-hedged and many people buy puts before anything really happens that keeps VIX climbing to 30 slowly. In turn, all the OTM VIX calls get destroyed because VIX didnt move up fast enough.


So before you buy VIXY / VIX calls make sure you at least have some individual stock puts or index puts cuz its quite hard to profit on VIX calls unless the market just pukes really hard for some reason

You can find some charts to see what the normal blood pressure ranges are. Pay attention to the "pulse pressure" as well. It's the difference between the systolic and diastolic.
