I like shiny rocks, but the majority of posters in this general legit believe that within 5 years they'll be living a Mad Max fantasy life, where their $3,000 stack of silver buffalo rounds will buy them fertile lands and a harem of fertile teenage "sex wives". It's honestly just poorfag incel cope from smooth brains desu. Basically shonen power fantasy, wish fulfillment, and isekai all wrapped up into one, but for Western wagies.

The banksters in the UK are changing their terms and conditions to withhold people's money to stop the sector from collapsing. It no longer matters what happens from here on out, if you don't get your money out of the bank, the banksters own you.

The buying women part is an incel cope, the buying land part is a rentcuck cope. Both of those things have an inherent value, which will not be lost when paper money goes to zero.
Which is why you should have low interest debt in a mortgage or loan, and use that money you save to buy a loving wife, a decent plot of land, and all the tools and infrastructure you need.

Pretty sure there's several people here that buy from them.
Anyway if you don't like them or those prices, then you might start looking into junk silver. For example, www.cdt.fr has 5 francs semeuses for 5.14 euros, and those coins are .835 with 10.02 grams silver content.

Jewish claws typed this post.

Pic related is the Gold:Silver ratio.

The straight line on the left stretches all the way back to Prehistory. When humans valued Gold and Silver directly relative to their natural abundance in the Earth.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metals_of_antiquity

Fast forward to the (((Twentieth Century))), the Golemification of the United States of America, and assorted, blood soaked Kike shenanigans over the last 200 years.

Never before has Silver been so consistently and strenuously suppressed in price. It is the lynchpin of the Kikes financial control - and from which flows all their power. Without which they are just what they are; ragged, inbred parasites with nothing but lies to peddle to useful idiots.

So long as they can trick humanity into believing worthless paper and not timeless precious metals, is money, they will control civilization. But that lie has been pushed to the breaking point, as the inevitable, inexorable and inescapable return to Natural Order is about the burst their dam spectacularly.

There has never been a better time in the history of this planet to buy silver.

My only fear is that the resulting collapse of this horrifying house of Jewish built cards we ‘live’ in will be so catastrophic that we will be more concerned with finding food and basic survival than we will with trade and society.

Unfortunately for us the globalist gambit being deployed seems to be a sort of pincer maneuver, they're attacking and undermining food, energy, and currency at the same time. If they manage to deprive basics for long enough they'll break the will of most people and reduce populations to slavish dependency. Definitely critical to stock up on what you need and try to be as self sufficient as possible so we can resist kike bullshit and help our neighbors keep their heads on straight.

I try to be a good person. I’ve never struck a blow or fired a shot in anger. But it’s becoming apparent that we are about to see a real social crunch that eclipses the Great Depression, in both magnitude and rapidity. And it’s going to wash away a lot of soft people like a biblical flood.

Anon, I'm so scared too. That's why I'm staking brass and lead and Spam and Cheerios. The collapse that’s looming will be just like all the scary parts from all the post-apocalyptic Hollywood movies I've seen (which were pre-programming since the jews wanted us to know because they had to pre-seed the idea because they just did). I agree more or less, not sure how quickly the decline in living standards and access to resources will occur but it's clear that darker days are ahead. Dad just sent me another picture of more coins that he selects from the scrap bin at his favorite LCS for melt value a few times a week. For whatever reason they don't try marketing their common foreign silver and instead just sell it to a refinery so dad has been stacking lots of cool stuff at 0% premium. Before long he'll have a formidable pile of .600ozt/asw Canadian dollars which I think are very sensible coins to hoard, especially at $10.90 each. I know a couple anons have taken advantage of scrap price coin deals at their LCS so it is probably a widely available option, you just have to ask.

My stance: precious metals ("PMs" - gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium) should be purchased for three reasons:
>Simply holding and admiring the stuff,
PMs are one of the best ways to purchase art that retain value despite the whims of whatever is 'in style'.
>As a way to transfer wealth.
Protip: keep your purchase receipts so you can deduct those prices from what would otherwise look like pure profit if/when you go to sell. When you're cash fat and older, you might want PMs to transfer wealth to your heirs. When bequeathing, make sure your heirs have the stash assessed item by item - you will deduct this from any future sale to prove profit. If they don't, the whole of any sale will appear as profit and be taxed accordingly. Details here:
https://www.bankrate.com/taxes/do-you-have-to-pay-tax-on-inheritance/
>As a hedge against rampant inflation.
Generic PMs values change with the value of the local currency, though silver's wider industrial application contributes to its larger price fluctuations. If an ozt of Ag buys five loaves of bread now, it should still buy you five loaves despite the fiat price of bread. Rampant ("hyper") inflation is possible, but the chances are small in most western countries. The inflation we now see globally is mostly caused by high fuel and shipping costs, low product supply, and in the US the Covid stimulus. This is different from an economy and currency going bust, and/or the government going rogue.

Investment strategies create wealth, PMs store wealth. Acquire wealth first, then buy PMs. In ordinary times, you will not get rich trading PMs. To make a profit dealers sell above spot - with a "premium". Numismatic value aside, they will buy from you below spot (rarely at or above), but in any case below their premiums: they are businesses that exist only when profitable. So you need time for the prices of metals rise to where you would break even relative to fiat.

Oops wrong pasta. How about this..

My typical copypasta to answer "what should I buy". My answer is more like, "Here are some options to consider."
- For generic bars with no design, watch the markups over spot: premiums (added charges) go up for smaller pieces. When selling, your buyer may insist on spot price.
- When a new series of artful or themed bullion (especially coins) comes out, the first of the series are usually missed by later collectors. They will pay high premiums to fill in the series. Ponder the potential for series popularity: generic and/or cringeworthy-themed series have higher failure rates.
- Interesting coins cost least while they're still being minted. Once the mintage stops and dealers run out of stock the prices jump, then rise more slowly but still faster than generic silver. Maples, Eagles, Wieners, Britannias, etc. are all nice but boring. The mint may add a privy to make them more collectible (creating a series) and gin up the price. Buy stuff that changes overall designs from year to year: Somali elephants, Canadian Wildlife, Australian kookaburras or koalas, island nations' series, etc. These become series.
- If you buy pieces that appeal to your sense of art, taste, and interests, they will still feel good even if the price or value of the PM goes nowhere. Caveat: if you go to sell, it's harder to part with them.
- Some beautiful generics are priced comically high (Germanias, e.g.) - they don't follow the market trends as readily, and usually garner highest resale price only for a few years after the mintage. The drawback: dealers may categorize these as "generic" and price them as generic when buying them from you.
- If free shipping is offered, buy enough to take advantage of that. Although it's shipping (not directly PM), it's an added premium.
- Keep a spreadsheet of your purchases!!! You should track profit/loss over time. It's quite revealing.

This is a nice effort post but I hard-disagree on a few sentiments. The notion that PMs are not going to balloon in value is absurd. Pre/post inflation comparisons are not applicable here, and are rudimentary talking points to get people to understand the WHY to invest in PMs. However, it is comically simple and fails to account for the gravity of the situation we are in.

PM prices can only be contained because the financial markets are still working. The bond market represents pent-up wealth that amounts to twice the size of the U.S. GDP, and people actually believe some of these claims are valid or even POSSIBLE to pay back. The financial crisis we all see on the horizon is going to be focused on this debt time-bomb and people running to safety once they realize it's worth pennies on the dollar. Bonds are also used as collateral to buy up the stock market so even that will be unwinding as leveraged plays only work if prices are moving higher. There is a guarantee to be a flight to quality assets with PMs being the primary benefactor.
The world's resources are truly finite, and the monetary system's need to control price has caused physical shortages. Actualizing this scarcity is another bump up in the true purchasing power of PMs. There is no getting around it, as powerful as MMT is, it can only function by overlaying a functional economy. You can't MMT your way out of Africa or off of a desert island. You also can't MMT your economy back to health when your domestic population is bankrupt and have no jobs and the only source of capital is... well not actual capital but LIQUIDITY provided by a zombie banking system.

Go to your local coin shop and buy a few 1 ounce coins of cheap generic silver rounds. Continue doing this until you find one with a good combination of cheap price and non-skeezy service.
Once you've found said shop, continue buying one ounce silver coins until you've attained a small pile. (~100 oz.) Feel free to mix it up now and buy bullion like Krugerrands, Britannias, Kangaroos, Maple Leafs, Silver Eagles, Philharmonics, Pandas, etc. if you want. Generally, try to keep your costs low.
After you've got about ~100 oz. of silver coins and have spent some time visiting and browsing your favorite coin shop, you'll have a good idea if you want to get an ounce of gold or maybe start buying silver bars or historic coins or numismatic coins. It's up to you.
Save your receipts.
If you care about privacy, keep your purchases below $10k and pay in cash.

The central bank funding of the first world war is what destroyed the gold standard in the first place. Before that the system actually worked remarkably well for settling international trade. Spending too much in excess of your own exports was paid for in gold and would actually contract your domestic banking system so it did a great job of keeping everything in line. Like it or not, the rest of the world is getting royally fucked in the ass by the dollar hegemonic system, so I absolutely see them wanting to move to something more fair. And I especially do not see them wanting to agree to using some sort of SDR or CBDC that is centered in America or Europe. The same language that every speaks is gold, and from a stability standpoint, I could see this last decade as a sign that other global power blocks such as the East & Russia have been given time to acquire more gold to be on a more equal footing. As much as the West likes to play hard-ball, their goals are still internationalist. And even if they can't completely reign in Putin and Xi, they still want them to be incorporated into the international world order. The dollar system is guaranteed to be destroyed sooner or later. It's inevitable. I don't see anything other than gold filling that gap once the financial system starts to implode.

The more worthless it is, the more businesses can create proprietary tokens like chuck e cheese only for regular products/discounts, just charge extra for customers that still use fiat. I don't mind coming home with silver change that is worth less to exchange but still good for a dope discount from the store I get my steaks n seafood from... Or maybe silver can be allocated as a cash back savings thing, like save up 20-30$ in points n get a silver token redeemable for that 30$ instead of taking 30$ off that bill. Why? Because the value is innate n costs the business nearly nothing to implement n it's almost a free advertisement when people show the discount tokens to others if there's good art. The more businesses that jump on board the more secure they are against a liquidity lockup as well.

Got 2 ASEs, 6 New Hampshire goldbacks, a generic buffalo round, a Canada proof dollar, a gold grain card, an Eisenhower 40% dollar, as well as some goodies thrown in for $93.
Will sports cards be valuable when SHTF?

>if the times comes
Depends on "the time". If it's just you that needs money for some particular use, it's pretty easy. Pick one: good price, quick sale. If you're very lucky you'll get both. Selling to a dealer means not so good price: it's their job to talk you into selling low. If you sell at auction, it's pretty quick and usually higher than at a dealer, but you have auction fees (typically 12-15%) and shipping to consider. Reserve auction sales for really popular pieces.
Then there's the question of overall economy. If everyone is looking for fiat, you won't be getting a good price. If there's rampant inflation (no, we're not there - I was paying 9.5% on my first mortgage in the '80s and we lived just fine and happy), the metal itself may be used for trade.

Today I got a second set (at top) of antique Indian silver spoons each decorated with 5 babby ~.37g silver Travancore Sneedrams (formerly Chuckrams). Both sold cheap because understandably the sellers had no idea what they were, this set weighs 61g and was $15.84 total. I'd love a sack full of the little coins someday, much cheaper than ancient Greek fractions.

Like any collectable, SHTF or not,l you have to find the right person who'd want it. I'd say in a societal collapse scenario, that's going to be next to impossible.
That being said I don't think we'll ever hit that point so "Yes, but..." is probably the best answer.

The nostalgia craze for S/NES/N64 carts is going to start dropping off when millienials start dying. Zoomers don't give nearly as much of a shit about an original MMX3 cart as the guy who rented it from blockbuster 30 years ago and never owned it. Like I said before, collectables have the extra step of needing to find someone willing to pay what the market decides it's worth. That's a commodity in and of itself.

I would seriously consider selling them before the inevitable market crash and converting the profits into PMs.

I've never been in a situation where this has come up, and it's isn't wise to say "never". So possibly yes, but it would be a generic round or bar, not a coin (probably).
It's also possible to acquire small amounts for such use, and in other metals too.

That's where pieces of eight came from. It's been done and is a possibility, but change could also become possible in some form.

Any or all of the above depending on your outlook. Even amongst the achizos here there are differing stances.

This hard money vision of the past is quite literally jewish trickery in academia. Hard money is extremely rare and was only for special transactions for special people. 99.9999% of human transactions have been paid with debt in a theoretical unit. Ignore (((sociology))) and actually read history on how the past actually functioned. With the exception of the last 100 years, at no point in human history has hard money ever been the common settlement method. Gold and silver are too rare for that.

Junk is the best when it's cheap due to how recognizable it is and for the divisibility factor, but right now since it isn't cheap it isn't the greatest. I think I have around $30 face junk silver and would love to buy more but the premium is just way too high on it.

What do you do with the cans SIM-bro?

Also, since you seem to enjoy Tin, have you considered collecting cheap pewter? It's generally 92-97% pure Tin with a bit of Copper and Antimony, it melts at around 450 Fahrenheit so is fun to play with and can be sold to hobbyists (like toy soldier and minifig makers) for worthy premiums. While pewter/tin is the "poorer" man's silver it's still much more valuable than copper so I like hoarding it when I come across it cheap, you should be able to find plenty in thrift stores and at boot sales.

You are either lying about the cost, your time, or both. Also, you won’t get spot for those bars. You will have to cut them open and have them tested. You might find some retards on eBay that think they are buying some rare vintage bar instead, but few people will want them without destroying them to verify silver content. >Bro. We all know you are lying about this. I’ve been on eBay, Craigslist, estate sales, and auctions. It is very rare to find large amounts of sterling for anywhere under spot.

You clearly don't understand how 2nd hand markets work eggfag, I've wheeled and dealed antiques and collectibles since I was 11 (on eBay) and know where to go and how to find good deals, it's an awesome hobby. You can disbelieve to your heart's desire but it doesn't change the fact that I regularly get cheap scrap PMs in addition to all sorts of valuable antiques, books and collectibles for cheap at auctions and estate sales. It's evident that you have no concept of the realm and only think I'm lying because you're an ignoramus who can't do the same. If I was *only* looking for scrap it might not be worth the time IRL (still worth it online), but cheap PMs are basically gravy for me while the antique meat and potatoes pay the bills. I try educating anons to help them score good deals too instead of just pumping my ASE bags and calling them stupid for buying generics. It's kinda funny how threatened you are by cheapies.

Do you collect coal samples? My dad owns the mineral rights to our family farmland and I'm seriously considering heading back to open up the coal seam about 15' down so they can stay warm in winter if SHTF. Coal is comfy

I would never argue with the statement that "a lot of people do stupid shit". I would argue with the statement that the comex price is actually the correct retail market price of silver. I would also argue that paying above spot for silver is not necessarily stupid. At my pay grade, spending hours looking for silver at a price that saves me $5 is stupid. Unless, of course, you really enjoy the hunt.

I work for the railroad so I'll sometimes pick up larger chunks if they're on the ground or spilled on the platform of the motors. That would be cool to dig your own mine, reminds me of Fred Dibnah if I remember right he had his own personal coal mine in his back yard for his steam engines.

I loved my old LCS and built a good rapport with him over the years. He hooked me up with great deals on junk silver and would call me when stuff he knew I liked came in.

I just moved 2 months ago and the few LCSs in my new area suck. One is a massive shop with a huge inventory, but they charge funding stupid prices. 30xface for junk stupid. The other two near me both have abysmally small selections, most of which are numismatic/graded coins, and they also charge high prices. I miss my 20x face junk silver so badly.

How fucking stupid are you? When you go to sell silver to a bullion dealer they will pay you spot, give or take a percentage or two. They will not pay you spot + 30% simply because you paid spot + 30% when you originally bought from them. Imb4 you're just going to sell to a rando buyer for spot +30%. Kek, good luck with that Cletus.

Based and pickerpilled. This is precisely how I built my library, although for me it was frequenting library old-stock sales (where I can get like 20 books for $4) and the unwanted/outdated book shelf at college. With the latter, I managed to score an almost complete set of the Harvard Classics series. I was hauling ass to & from my dorm between classes with a backpack crammed full of 80-90 year old books. Shit was cash.
