I am 30 years old and damn near everyone else my age has at least one of the following:
>burgeoning career
>wife/starting a family
>financial success
>artistic merits
>academic merits
>charitable merits that have them loved/cherished by a community

I have fucking nothing. Since I turned 22 I've essentially stopped developing because I was so focused on my physical health, and I still fucked that up. The closest thing I have to an achievement is almost turning $600 into north of $5 million but I fucked that up and fumbled that as well. I am suicidal most days.

What should I do? Assuming I start tomorrow, is there any way I can get my shit together enough to have something to be proud of by the time I'm 35?

Donno, what do you enjoy?

"burgeoning career" and "wife/starting a family" is not really a tropy, it's more of a stress factor attained because of social expectations. As per convention it can be seen as milestone, but objectively the value of it is questionable

Why compare yourself to others? Why care what others think? Focus on your own main goals which I'm sure you have. Watch:

The ones I'm referring to haven't even necessarily achieved "greatness" though--just goals in things that they were passionate about.

>>51357537
Some will, most won't. It feels like everybody is doing so much better than I am.
I didn't really "lose" the money so much as sold 6 months before it was worth that much.

What careers lend themselves to charlatanism? Fitness/financial/youtube guru?

Kind of a long story, but simple version is that I'm a type 1 diabetic and had an uncle who was also type 1 diabetic and died at like 60 years old in essentially the worst way possible from the side effects (lost a limb and digits, could barely see, was in a wheelchair at the end of his life etc etc). Scared the shit out of me as a kid and gave me outrageous anxiety, so I put 100% of effort into being "healthy" but after all that I've still got some health shit I'm dealing with. More complicated then that, but that's the cliffs notes version.

My only real hobbies are working out and playing a few sports, none of which I am good enough at to pursue a career in.

I mean sure, the objective positive gains of a family can be debated but I think having a career is by and large a good thing.

>>51357584
I don't know, if I could stop caring about what others think I definitely would, but there's definitely a part of me that wants to succeed at something out of "spite" to everyone else if nothing else.

comparison is the thief of joy, 30 is still young. It takes one good day to get the ball rolling
