52627628 No.52627628 [Reply] [Original]

it's so fucking free you dumbfucks, no one is gonna use crypto shit for anything real, do you know why XMR kept relatively high resistance against the dump? because of massive utility DIST is pushing the exact same thing, just with way faster privacy (while using a ringsig of size 64 vs 16 on monero), smaller block sizes so more decentralization, and basic EUTXO programming allowing for convience features like on chain assets and DEXs. its literally the project everyone has been asking for, and the TESTNET is finally live, they delivered.

'oh so why not just use monero' because it can never be adopted at a store, you will never pay with monero, its slow as shit and its dying and losing developers.

i'm so tired of seeing "jeet", "scam project" and ofc the infamous one liners like "siphoned money" (thru a testnet lmfao) its the one shot at an ICO you get unless you were there in 2019 for the AZERO ICO or in 2014 to buy ETH at 0.34$ at their ICO. you can make your own decisions on this, but its one of my married bags during this bear market because the CEX listing will presumably happen mid 2023 along with mainnet launch, so...

few things:
>not a copy paste chain, everything from scratch
>has monero core devs
>fully live testnet
>ico is live at 0.5 usd for a bdis (discreet on binance chain) redeemable for 1 DIST (mainnet) when it goes live

so please for the love of god, READ the technical paper on this:

This is 100% relevant because you're not buying discreet. You're buying bdis on the BSC casino. You then HOPE you get some test net dis allocated to you on the test net. Can you show me a transaction where bdis was purchased and dis test was received? No? Because it's a private network? Oh OK, so basically your bnb gets siphoned through the privacy network so you can't prove shit. I'd say prove me wrong but you literally can't if discreet works so the "siphoned money" argument MUST be true or your product is shit. Please respond when you are done shitting on your street.

There's about 5k BDIS (~2.2k usdt) available for sale on 1inch cheaper than the presale (0.4-0.45$ instead of 0.5).
> "u need to buy from presale to access testnet bozo no one will buy"
Yes, indeed. You need 3k from the presale to be able to get in the testnet, but anything over that (or if you don't plan to reach 3k) should be bought at the cheaper price aka 0.4-0.45$. No reason to pay full price. That's a 10-20% discount.

CAREFUL: some pajeet scumbag listed the first iteration of the token on 1inch but the transition is over. Do not buy DIS, it's BDIS. Confirm on the official website for the contract. Just go in the FAQ and search "contract address", you'll find the right contract ($BDIS). Use that contract to buy on 1inch and you'll be safe. Enjoy.

It's not that hard to understand. You buy bdis which is on BSC network. Your purchase needs to buy you tokens in discreet test net. It's an L1 right? So how does my BSC purchase get bridged to discreet test net. Surely you can answer this basic fucking question.

Testnet tokens are test net you pea-brained retard. You can ask the devs and they send you some, or you use the fucking faucet.

To get access to testnet you do need BDIS tho, bought straight from the presale contract. 3k to be exact (so ~1500$).

It's pretty simple ser. Testnet is only to test. Testnet tokens have no value and are only there to TEST.

Bsc tokens are IOUs for main net token. To be able to raise funds without having a working mainnet yet, the team has created a token they can sell on BSC. You buy the IOU. When they release main net, you use your address that is holding BDIS to prove that they owe you X $DIST which they send you on the MAIN NET.

Monero anon here. Okay I bothered to skim over the technical paper to see how is this thing actually supposed to work.

It appears they base the privacy on Monero stuff, but then they add Zcash style transparent transactions (they literally say it's for better adoption with KYC stuff). The way their smart contracts are supposed to work is, they have a public part that's just Ethereum Virtual Machine, but then private parts are supposed to be arithmetic circuits to generate a bulletproof. The whole private smart contract promise is hinged on these arithmetic circuits working and devs bothering to use them. The programming language to make this all work is not developed yet. Still not done, for scalability they just slap Polkadot's parachain concept on the whole thing, because why not I guess, we're making a whole salad at this point. Dapps run their own parachain with their own consensus protocol, I shit you not. Oh and of course it's proof of stake for supposed environmental friendliness.

Even if this thing works, it is clear to me now Discreet is no competition to Monero. Monero is a "do things properly" project that doesn't jump on bandwagons and it takes privacy as non-negotiable. Discreet is just another smart contract web3 mish mash of speculative unproven concepts promising the world (as they do on their website), and with "good enough" privacy somewhere in there. I believe, in practice, you could get the same level of privacy by Using Ethereum with Tornado Cash. Yes this is even accounting for Tornado being censored, because there is no reason why private parts of Discreet wouldn't get the same treatment, especially since they're already sucking that KYC cock. That's what you get when you make privacy optional.

They were bragging about a guy behind Tryptich working for them (for money I suppose) to implement it to Discreet before Monero. Not surprising since Discreet is new, they can take the latest stuff from academia without thinking about upgrading an already existing network. But Tryptich is old news now and instead Monero is going for Seraphis. it's better in a lot of ways especially multisig.

Discreet is the thinking mans coin. I'm sure there's plenty of people who will dismiss the ICO, just like they did with ETH, NXT, NEO, AZERO, etc. many of those coins are still 1b+ marketcap and had similar tokenomics to DIST, and remains top-50 coins.

Discreet is an entirely different ballgame, its actually offers something different (except maybe for ETH that did introduce something meaningful and new) that provides immediate value for investors. As much as biztards would like to ignore it, shit like carbon consumption of consensus, staying up to date with regulations, and STILL maintaining unilateral privacy on the entire network is a gamechanger, and you cannot change my mind.

All of these """pure"""" coins like Monero, Wownero, DERO, Beam who has no legal entity to finesse their way to keep them listed will die a sad death.

I agree with this statement.
However, unless you are willing to thoroughly inspect the codebase and every update, you have to trust the developers even if the system is technically "trustless".
And you know, this shilling campaign, combined with attacks on "monero maxis" instead of actual competitors like Beam/Dero (yes, monero is not a competitor at all, feature sets are too different), combined with "You have to provide your email and specify your country to use a _privacy_ coin", combined with
>By clicking on any link or Accept, you agree to our and our partners use of cookies and other technologies to process your personal data
leaves an impression that I shouldn't trust whoever's behind this coin.

It’s against the law for them to let people from certain countries buy in you stupid fucking sperg they have to vet early access to avoid legal complications. If you don’t want to give up personal information just lie or hold your tokens until mainnet and swap them to dist. Amazing that monerofaggots constantly shit on the idea of choosing to publicize information when Monero itself allows you to make your transactions public if you want.
