>Day trading — buying and selling an investment within the same day or multiple times within a day — is one of the activities that may constitute carrying on a business, according to the CRA. In its email, the tax agency said other factors that might be relevant to that determination include a history of owning securities only for a short time, the degree of knowledge an investor possesses about the securities market, whether an investor spent a significant amount of time studying financial markets and potential investment purchases and whether an investor primarily used debt to finance the purchase of their financial investments.

>“Although none of the individual factors may be sufficient to characterize the activities of a taxpayer as a business, the combination of a number of those factors may well be sufficient for that purpose,” the agency said.

I don't gain anything from /smg/ so frankly fuck this place it's aids. I'm rolling all my gains into JEPI and going to spend less times around pedophiles and degenerates that think Europe is going to freeze to death and gas is going to $20/gallon but also we are going to have a Santa rally simultaneously because "bad news is good news". Understand how banks make money outside of the few mega banks with huge credit card portfolios.
Every single bank will have NIM pressure and reduced revenue, they’ll also have negative guidance. Deposit betas are finally catching up to where they should be while loan repricing is non existent.
Not to mention deposits are melting off as the feds QT keeps going and plummets the money supply

Because RINOs don't have the Senate, so they aren't in power. They'll hold symbolic jerkoff votes and hearings in the House for the next two years.

And even if they did have power, the best we'd get from them are corporate tax cuts which help stock prices. Which is a good thing for the stock market general we're posting in.

I think there are way too many factors and way too small a sample size to make this call. However as a general principle, deadlock is bad in times of crisis because proactive measures aren't taken. We are in a time of crisis.

Half-century high inflation with 120% of GDP, Boomer demographics rolling over (causing the dual labor and welfare state crises), and the strongest geopolitical opposition in a quarter century since we chummed the waters with Kabul, a chip trade war, and a senile president.

monetary policy lags by 12-24 months
we haven't yet seen the effects of monetary policy on the economy, as indicated by the red hot economic reports that have been coming out for the last 6+ months
today we again overshot jobs estimate by 82k (expected 153k, actual 235k)
soon enough, with virtually100% certainty, this will end
the economy will get hit by the lagging monetary policy effects, lay offs will increase, delinquencies will increase, the consumer is already tapped out with all time high debt on their house, their car, their student loans, their credit card debt, with a negative savings rate
valuations on companies are based upon the prior booming economy
when we go into a recession, demand will fall sharply, spending will fall, corporate profits will fall
many will go from growth companies to value - their multiples will compress, as less growth = less future value
it can literally only get worse from here in the economy
yes, I know, the stock market is not the economy
but this is why it makes sense to continue selling, even here

Not a pivot necessarily. Like the other anon said, it's been beaten up for way too long, this is beyond expectations of how far it could ever fall already. >The flagship now

Confirmed for being ignorant to the latest Nvidea debacle.

That’s just the problem; it wasn’t. The 80 series basic card was really what should have been the 70 series and the 80 big version should have been the 70ti. The 90 was what the 80 should have been and all of them were priced waaaaaaay too high for the performance over 30 series.

I’m still running an EVGA RTX 2080 FTW Gaming HydroCopper and an i7 4770k whole system on custom water obviously but I keep up in modern titles and only bottlenecked by CPU in some, GPU in others but only barely. I play everything I want at good frames and good settings.

Could I dump another few thousand into a new system? Sure I can. But why would I? The case for my rig is ten years old, usb 3 didn’t even exist when I first built it. Still holds up with the current hardware. If I’m going to upgrade GPU to current gen that means ENTIRELY new build cause the power delivery is different and new gen outpaced old CPUs / memory / mobos. Well obviously I’m buying new drives case and cooling just going for a new build at that point. Why should I? I could already run VR if I wanted to. I game at 4k already. What’s to be gained? Slightly better hair shadow rendering at 100yards with 144fps for $5000? Yea I’m good for now.

I think we should make it more welcoming to women and minorities by using only single digits for prices and not using percentages, and use emojis instead for tickers. So for instance instead of "Today AAPL tested new lows by going down 4.32% closing at $132.35" you would say "Today (apple emoji) went up one which makes 9".

My experience is that of the masses. Look at any tech tuber. Ask retailers. People are buying last gen rather than current.

If youve seen how most here trade theyd be down over 70% in a year
>soxl
Down over 50%
>spy calls
Also down hard
>spy shares
Down 25%, so the ooooo'ing makes no sense on a pump day where the loss went from 25% to 24.8% kek
A year is a long time when youre trading at a leveraged rate and going on all in because "stocks never go down!"

I'm not doubting semis in the long term, I'm doubting them the next 1-2 years. Because they are all fucking suffering from the same macro.
Mind you if I had to short a semi company it'd be Intel and the only reason I don't is because I can't quite tell how much of their operative catastrophe is already priced in

Interest rates have been near 0 for 15 years. Lets say that it took 5 years for the economy to recover from 2008, we've been pumping up a bubble in for the other 10 years.

Your 4770 is severely underpowered today, I do not buy it’s only barely holding you back. I got rid of mine 3 years ago despite everyone online telling me it was pointless and it was a massive upgrade. Haswell diehards are obnoxious. The jump to better ram with newer CPUs makes a big difference too unless you’re playing at 1080p 60.

And for basically no reason it seems. Jews were planning quantum computing or perfect virtual reality or AI or gene editing would cause a revolution x100 times bigger than the digital revolution by now. Or they just got fucking greedy, I can't imagine any other reason for letting shit like metaverse get as far as it has on free government funbux.
