It doesn't matter. Pick whichever reputable investment service company has the logo you like the most. Then all in on stock index funds until you feel confident enough to pick your own stocks.

roths are for dumb boomers, unless you're retarded you shouldn't

Yes. Roth IRA, max it out every year. Tax free gains is a no-brainer.

Yes. They're ultra-based. All the gains on your investments are tax free. Yelen naturally wants to get rid of them because they allow the goyim to build wealth and have income-limits so the chosenites can't benefit from them. Maxing out your Roth is the most antisemitic thing you can do.

>> No.53179050

>>53178445
Yes do so. Please ignore the memes. If you want 10% of your investments in crypto for fun great. But a Roth is a great tool for middle class investors

Vanguard and Fidelity are both good. Open a Roth and invest 100% Total US Stock Market Index Fund and don’t ever touch it. Just keep making auto contributions and set it to automatically reinvest the dividends. Keep contributing through the ups and downs over the years and you will make it.

Reddit moment with thinly vieled mockery in absence of an argument. The maximum contribution to a Roth is a paltry $6500 a year. That's nothing. Even if you did this and it snowballed into a few hundred thousand, it won't make any difference at all when you're 59.5. The opportunity cost of squirelling away peanuts is much larger than you think. The only unironic reason to do an IRA is if you plan on filing for social security disability benefits (namely SSDI) which would allow you early access to these funds without penalty. Otherwise it's a failure move. This guy once was harping about it to me saying if I start now I could have 600k. 600k won't make much of a difference to me now, let alone when in 59.5. That's pleb money and pleb strategy and the people who advocate it don't even know the ins and outs well enough to access it early.

How much can an employer contribute to a Roth IRA?

The limit is $22,500 in 2023

Yeah it’s a valuable tax planning tool for retirement. Having $200k tax free is a big deal when you’re older and trying to keep the government from robbing you.

You are so out of touch with reality it’s absolutely ridiculous. Every scrap of evidence tells us either A) life as we know it will be gone and no investing money will matter, or B) someone maxing a Roth and investing it well for 35-40 years will put them in a much better financial position than if they didn’t save the money.
>B-But they could invest it better!
That does absolutely nothing to remove the fact that investing this way is effective. Many people would never run their own business or invest in rentals, and would end up not saving at all if they didn’t save through traditional means.
And yes retard, in 30 years $600k tax free will still have value. Nobody is saying this will make you rich - most people will never be rich.
God you’re a dumb fucking fat. Go fuck your boyfriends cock

Wow 600k in 30 years, I'll be in my sixties. Literally nothing money then. And it wasn't tax free. I would have paid taxes on the income used to invest it. Gigantic fag and cuck move to divert any money to an IRA.
>>53179218
That's the limit for 401k and Roth 401k which is nothing too. About 50% of employers match to a Roth 401k with a regular 401k which defeats the point. Regular 401k is a utter smoothbrain retardation, even more stupid than an IRA because you'll incur massive taxes when you cash out. So instead of taking 1M out in your golden senile years, you get 600 something after taxes if you cash out all at once.

What if I get 6% matching from my job and take out in in a few years, would it be worth the tax hit I’ll take?
