If I worked here I'd eat humus and candy and greasy Indian food every day to build up the rankest farts and I'd crop-dust everyone all of the time. They'd have to fire me for it and by that time the chafing would be so bad I'd be happy about it. What a nasty place

If I had to work in an office again it would be a place like that. The open floorplan offices are soul crushing. This looks comfy and a good place to be productive. I'm sure the people are friendly too.

It's amazing because at first glance this looks better. The furniture is nicer and more modern, the people probably make way more money and are better educated. And yet anyone who has worked in an office knows how much better the OPs pic is.

Probably a developer in an office space full of tech people. I'm took a tour of our developer offices one time and it was the nerdiest safe space ever. Cubicles full of anime waifu pillows, Japanese mall ninja shit, and back lit colored keyboards. The smell was horrible but the collective income of those 20 developers was well over $2 million per year and anytime I went in there they were sitting around a table chugging soda and arguing about anime cat girls or playing smash bros.

You know what's funny after YEARS of exclusively only getting hired at these fucking open floor plan type places it really is refreshing to see the old cubicle.
Why did the young gen X and older millennials hate it so much?
A lot of people don't remember all the viral hate that cubicles got around 2010
People were even memeing and calling it "the pod" and there were arguments all the time because there was a subset of people who wanted to end the cube and another set who said no an open office plan is fucking stupid I'll quit if they do that.
Young people probably don't even realize the open office concept going mainstream is barely a decade old.

I do commercial hvac work and have seen plenty of the taller style cubicles where you basically have to standup to see over them. They ever have the overhead filing cabinets. Not nearly as common as the style in OPs pic though. Lots of buildings that renovated over the years have used the shorter style cubicles.

I used to work in one of those >>53386299 just a bit bigger with more space and didn't find it that bad, but one day I had pain in an ear and went to the doc.
Apparently both of them were completely stuck with ear shit and since it was getting infected they just removed all of it.
Then I got back and realised I was half deaf before that, and it became hell, had to quit when I realised I could now hear the whole office and not just the neighbors.
