AI is already being applied to MR and VR tech, with more to come
Look at the state of the art running on nvidia GPUs - DeepFace, all the stable diffusion tech and other shit doing processing on the visual layer which is what XR will dominate. We are an order of magnitude away from that on mobile processors, but that gap will likely be closed in 5-10 years, especially with software efficiency improvements.
