I've done no work today apart from a few messages at the start. I did a few chores and I'm having lunch just now.

My only project's end date was delayed due to reasons NS outside my control so things are even lower pressure.

That picture gives me anxiety.
It's 7:20 am locally for me so I'm still in bed. I usually don't start until about 8:30ish most days. I typically stay in bed and browse biz and cuddle with the wife and cats until that time.

9:47 am and I have done nothing today. I am just chilling by the fireplace, it's like -20 in Toronto today.

I have been jiggling the mouse every 10 minutes to keep the Teams status green. Too cozy and lazy to even do my normal days work of putting the curser in notepad and using a PS controller as a paperweight on the space bar. That trick keeps the status green through to 4pm.

Yep, feels like -15 in Chicago today.

My girlfriend had to commute today as usual (teacher) but I'm nice and warm and cozy at home.

I actually really enjoy commuting to downtown but I made a deal with my boss that if it's below 20 I'm not leaving the house. I feel like that's pretty fair, right?

WFH Chad here with 3 full-time jobs.

>$104K salary
>$96K salary
>$50/hour

I usually start around 8AM and work until ~4PM. I'm getting everything done for each of my positions, so I would not say I'm "taking advantage", just leveraging the downtime that I have with each job. I sometimes jump on at night and super early morning for things that are highly visible to the full team so it gives the appearance that I'm going "above and beyond" and really putting in the hours.

Once I buy a house I plan to slow down and probably only work 2 jobs, with the goal of being "laid off" from one and collect a few months severance to boot.

I'm 30 BTW and have a really solid resume. Happy to answer any questions as it relates to "overemployment".

Regarding WFH in general, I absolutely love it. I have a nice patio with a table that I work at, take walks around my neighborhood every ~30 minutes and have a home gym that I work out in for about 1 hour mid-day to break things up. I am currently looking at buying an adjustable desk and new chair since my current setup is "meh". I feel like my posture is starting to get real bad.

more power to you but yeah how the hell do you juggle 3 WFH jobs? I'd imagine there would be all these conflicts with scheduling meetings and fighting fires. but hey even for $300k I wouldn't WFH full time, I'd go crazy. good for you tho anon

My other colleagues have more meetings and daily standups. I was gifted glorified help desk with tickets and hardly many tickets. I’d like more work desu

All 3 are software engineering roles with mid-sized (<$20M) annual revenues. I was previously an early employee at a now well-known tech company and have a background (~7 years) of various software engineering experience. I also padded my resume with a few misc certifications which I have found is a nice topic of conversation during interviews.

If you have the opportunity to do contract work I would recommend starting there. Having two f/t jobs makes juggling meetings difficult at times, but contract work is by definition more flexible.

>>53559972
It helps that I have a lot of downtime with each, but yeah sometimes there are conflicting meetings and I have to skip one. Recently a regular meeting changed times and now overlaps with a different regular meeting, so if I can't get one changed I'm going to have to switch back and forth. Tricky.

Initially I started this during covid (I was already WFH) since I wasn't going to be out much anyway - so why not use that time to make more money. But now it's getting pretty tiresome and becoming more of a grind. As I mentioned I do plan to drop to only 2 jobs after I buy a house and that should get me closer to 20-25 hours a week. Likely going to keep 1 of the salaried jobs and the hourly job rather than the 2 salaried jobs because it will provide more flexibility and control over my time.

I get openai to fix the code bugs I get sent to fix. My workload consists of copy paste and asking a few questions and giving prompts. 4 years ago I used have to sit in an office and code for 7 hrs a day. Now I sit at home growing fat, on the road to disability handouts

I'm been a programmer for years and I just volunteered for QA work this year because it's easier, I work with a bunch of roasties but since it's WFH it's not as gossipy as an office setting and I'm not obligated to go to expensive restaurants for "get together". I didn't do much this week because the devs are killing themselves catching the deadlines, dunno why they want to be devs so much when the pay is the same because of the woke policies in this megacorp.

Hmmm. I'd be a bit scared that my 2 employers would somehow find each other or find out what's going on then I'd lose all jobs.

It might be worth looking into contract work to add on top of my current wfh gig and then be deliberately ambiguous about my intentions. It might not matter since it's contract and short term anyway...

what are your jobs? Im debating it but 1 full time tech job paying between 140 and 175 a year only is taking me 30 hours a week. If I could find another 100k job i could do in 15 that'd be ideal. meetings seem to always fuck up the timing though.
