As much as people pretend, I would doubt that many people really have put a lot of their own money in this. A small buy-in can still lead to impressive returns with a few successful trades, but it's still a game. I don't think cryptocurrencies are dying even if some specific ones might. Just adapt and continue. It's also possible that we're all completely deluded and we'll be looked at to have been just as silly as the beanie babies collectors. I don't particularly care, I'm just having fun playing with considerable, but still throwaway amounts. I'd wager most anon are like this too, or would at least hope so.

I had about ~$75k in the bank saved up a year ago, decided to put 40k of it into crypto, turned that into $250k so far, been continuing to work my day job and pay my bills. I'm sort of a loser but I'm also a functional adult with a job, my own apartment, I cook, I clean, I take care of myself.

If crypto market goes to $0 and I lose my investment, that would suck, but the rest of my life would remain unchanged, I'd keep going to work, I'd keep paying my mortgage. I wouldn't be perma fucked at all. How would it be different for you?

>It’s not a bubble it’s the future.
It's both. From the outside I used to think it was just a bubble, but since I started actually learning about it, I do think it is the future and that's why I'm willing to give money to projects I'm enthusiastic about. A lot of these technologies are game changers if devs can actually follow through with them. That said, recently there's been crazy amounts of hype where regular people were throwing money at everything because "numbers went up" without trying to understand what any of it was, or caring to. It was/is very bubbly, but even if things get more rational, the interesting projects and technologies won't die.

agree with you completely

>A small buy-in can still lead to impressive returns with a few successful trades

This is true for sure, even without successful trades, just buying and holding even shitcoins can lead to big gains.

Crypto is sort of like a pyramid in the sense that lets say you entered crypto 6 months ago and bought $5k of some random shitcoin. Then the market goes on a bullrun and your $5k shitcoin becomes worth $17k, now at that moment in time a newcomer entering the market would have to pay $17k to hold the same amount you own. So he does. Another bullrun and your $17k is $34k, now a newcomer has to pay $34k to own what you have. So he does. Ups and downs and the total crypto market cap continues to grow as more and more people & money enter the scene. Fast forward 5 years and maybe that $5k worth of shitcoin you bought is now worth $200k because the overall market cap has increased so many times, with so many waves of newcomers that all you basically had to do was get in relatively early.

I still think this current point in time constitutes as "relatively early" in crypto. The market cap could still easily go up into the trillions.

And in this case, much of the capital invested was lost, but also much of it was invested in a very high throughput backbone for the Internet, and lots of software that works, and databases and server structure. Does it ever occur to anyone that more and more people are coming to hate this thing, and to see it for the outdated crap that it is, and that maybe if it goes down to $5K, expecting it to go back up to $10K+ might not be the best idea?

Why is everyone convinced that this shit will "always recover" simply because it always has before? Maybe the next time will be the time that it doesn't?

Buy the dip
See which coins survived the crypto-crucible
Research a few
Invest in a few
Watch one or more of them turn into the next Amazon, Google, etc of crypto
Make money

Learn your lesson from the Dot Com bubble and act accordingly. Let the weak run scared.

The audacity of you fucking retards. You come here sharing tips and analysis of crypto, when it's just a roll of the fucking dice. You're like a sad old booze hound that thinks he's got a great method for winning the coin slots. You all think you're Jordan Belfort. If you weren't £1000 deep in crypto by 2014 you're a fucking victim. If you haven't already lost most of your money, you're going to at one point. Even the photos you post of your "14k portfolio", you're not kidding anyone. Spend 10k, up 4k one day, down 4k the next. This should not be a business and finance thread it should be a help thread for problem gamblers. You're fucking pathetic. You're lazy. You have nothing going in in life. That's why you choose crypto currency. You're all too lazy to invest in real business ventures. Take me for example, a real entrepreneur. I've been buying and selling cars since I was 17. It's paid my bills for 6 years. Just this morning I bought a "spares or repairs" listing for £150. Got it running after a quick reference of the hanes manual and an hour on YouTube. Same car, similar age and millage are selling for £4500 on autotrader. Night just sell it for £4000, for a quick sale. Even if I buy a car that is truly fucked, it still has scrap value, real physical value. What do you have? Nothing. Ive also put the deposit on a car that cost 3300 but will sell for 5000 easily. And all that took was 15 mins looking for a good deal. Last year I used only £8000 to buy my uncle a van and tolls for his landscaping business, for which I'm getting £1200 per month cash for zero effort. No sleepless nights. No spending hours each day following trends (100% pointless task) and now I'm looking to buy a small piece of low grade land for forestry operations. You idiots really have no idea about business or finance. I hope bitcoin crashes to 1k most of you fucking hang yourself. Worthless posers

I am a 32 years old Brazilian neet that never worked in his life, with no family that is putting all his inherited money in crypto. Money that I have being using to sustain a meager third world neet lifestyle that could be prolonged for my entire lifespan. For the next ten years I will be living the life of a "street hippie", a kind of vagrant traveler that survive doing begging like stuff. In my case by juggling at street stop lights, very common action in South America, and busking with a harmonica at gas stations. I will sleep in the streets, on gas stations and on the road. I will smoke weed, do petty crime against big stores and scan normies if needed. I will ask food at the restaurants like a true vagrant traveler. I am a virgin, but perhaps I will fuck some crack whores or loli native americans that whore themselves at the highway, don't know yet about that. And if I could, but I don't think I have the appeal, I would convince an underage girl to travel with me, a real street hippie tradition.

I will slowly go up until after years reach the USA and live there as ilegal tramp until my deportation. Then I will spend my earnings in crypto when my last youth was spend.

I have no plane b. I already put my money and I am selling my house by banana price. I am this close to hit the road.
