Depend the size of your portfolio and the % allocation in these oil stocks.

Usually, it's not a good idea to average down just because you're down. However, if your have a big enough portfolio (lets say above 30-50k) and your allocation is low, its not bad to raise your holding.

If it were me, I would buy Gold and Silver miner right now instead, nothing will beat them. You're just trying to grab a few penny in front of a steamroll by going after oil stock in my eyes.

I would be thrilled to see them explore to the west a bit away from the Boulder Vein, maybe towards the Jame or Hawk showing. I dont recall if they have checked Hoop's Mine yet either. Ptarmigan would be another interesting spot to check, its on trend with the Boulder Vein. Several workings also showed up below the main modern workings on Federal Creek, but I cant recall if they were actual adits or just test holes and trenches.

About 4km to the north of the main mine are the Tina showings and workings. Thats another old gold strike from a century ago. The minfile for Tina is here https://minfile.gov.bc.ca/Summary.aspx?minfilno=093L%20%20286 but i am not sure if its entirely correct, I recall the large quartz carbonate veins mentioned in this link, but they hosted pyrite / tetrahedrite as well as minor galena. The territory just west of Tina has a LOT of scattered quartz float.

>Royalty
All of the big royalty companies benefit directly through higher gold prices, so do check those out (FNV, WPM, OR, RGLD, SAND, TFPM). Smaller ones idk much about, could be good but really depends on the quality of their assets, management and balance sheet and much more speculative. Big royalty companies are buy & hold for the long term, expect lots of revenue & dividend growth in a high commodity price environment over many years.
>Producers
Agnico Eagle, Barrick, B2Gold, Endeavour Mining, Newmont, Newcrest are the first quality producers that come to mind. Low costs, high quality assets, strong margins and all that.
>Small cap producers
Orezone gold, Victoria Gold, Minera Alamos, Jaguar Gold, Gold Mountain, Silver X, Santacruz Silver, Guanajuato, Pan African Resources, Gatos Silver, Argonaut Gold, Calibre Mining, i-80 Gold, Gogold Resources, Karora Resources. That's about all of the sub-$1B market cap producers I know of. I'll let you pick your poison from the bunch. Some of them are quite risky from an operational point of view, but many are also valued quite low.
>Developers
The best that I know are: Skeena, Artemis, Marathon, G Mining. Skeena will need some permits but it'll be worth the wait. The other three are all fully permitted, fully financed and in construction.
>Iron ore, coal

My sentiment hasn't changed at all because there's no reason for it.
Still waiting for my target of $0.8 or hopefully even $0.6 and I'll double or triple my bag depending on how much money I have available.
For now this shit just tracks the CRB index with a few month lag rather than going on any fundamentals, so it might fly after PMs have dragged the index up first and with any luck it'll get sold then. Not that I'm in a hurry.
Triple Point is going to land into the government subsidized hydrogen sector and it being sold is practically a certainty and that's going to give these guys tens of millions.
Combine that with their existing 10 mil private placement and they might end up in a situation where the MC is on par with their cash reserves and that's a pretty good place to climb from.
Only single thing that sucks about this is that the timing was fucked. I was expecting a quick sale and money rotation to PMs, but that didn't pan out in a timely manner.
Now there's no telling whether it'll make a mint this year or fours years from now, but there's no question about the fundamentals.
I'll just buy more as it dips.

New datas been released for the general public looking at copper around Prince George / Central Interior.

https://thenarwhal.ca/mining-claims-bc-supreme-court/
BC natives are going to the provincial supreme court to strip out the Mineral Titles system, as it ignores their rights.... bunch of bullshit. Also sorry for the crappy Narwhal link, the groups hyper left but the other article on the matter doesnt work anymore.

Unironically what do you think the average peak is going to be from here? 2x? 5x? 10x? More?

>> No.54464717

>>54464626
no, in this case the native bands in question want to have all mineral rights tied back to them on their land, or a total demolition of the mineral titles system so that no one can stake mineral rights without their say so. Its going to get very interesting, because as a claim holder you have to contact any parties involved in the land you staked, be they private land holders or natives. The issue here is that the crown / government isnt communicating with the bands or land owners, giving them no notification a claim has been staked. Most of the bands I ve had to work with dont want to have a claim to deal with, but are happy that I ve gotten in touch with them that I want to do work on their territory. Usually they just want maps or a general idea of what I am doing, rarely they send a guy out to visit while i am working to see whats going on.

If the bands get their way, the mineral titles system is gone, no one gets to stake mineral titles in BC again, and our whole mineral ownership system implodes. If that happens, heads will roll. It would basically put BCs mining sector and its exploration sector out of business. The bands can fuck right off.

Basically fuel has 10-15 eth blend by law due to the EPA. This drives corn prices up by about 25% for ethanol, which can affect other things that need corn. 85% is a distant target that needs corrosion resistant engines, but this implies less reliance on big oil and further decoupling

Galleon is doing exactly the strategy Quenton Hennigh likes and talked about on a recent Crescat vid. You start producing gold from the easiest part of your property as soon as you can. Once you have cash flow, you no longer have to do dilutive financings and have money to drill other areas. This is Galleon's strategy with the zone 9 test mining coming up. With Galleon's veteran CEO, who has built a mine before, and $2k gold the odds to succeed seem to be pretty good.

Yea, people need to focus more on the facts than narrative. Look at what the mkt cap is compared to ounces produced (P/S ratio), this shows how much leverage you get. Look at their net profit (or loss). Look at the size of their resource and mine life. Exploration potential is also important, but every company is going to say they have good exploration potential, if Impact really had such great targets they would drill them out and show a 5 or 10 year reserve. In reality they probably have 6 months reserve and have to just mine what they find pretty much and go back after less attractive stopes they left in the past. This is what their production profile is showing, they mined the best ore first and have been going for worse and worse ore over the years. Graph is in koz silver produced.
On all these accounts, Impact Silver is a fail. Honestly if silver investors had been more tough and perhaps realistic, this company would have gone bankrupt by now, because they aren't making any money and haven't shown a path to profitability.

last I checked they didn't have reserves period. And only some parts of their assets had even Inferred resources. They're literally just following the orebody and praying they can keep on doing that, because they cannot bear the weight of the necessary capital expenditures to actually delineate the resources and reserves. Judging from your pic related it looks like their luck is running out.

They don't have any official reserves, but I'm guessing they do have some stope inventory. Seems inefficient to mine completely blind. They do have a lot of cash (compared to the size of their tiny business), so they could easily afford to drill out many years of reserve if they had good targets, but clearly they don't. They even have additional mill capacity, so obviously if they could drill out a larger reserve they would have done it by now. They may very well just stop mining at some point this year because they are running at a large negative margin and investors will be like wtfff.

It's down 11% on TSX, wouldn't exactly call that barely caring. It's up less than the silver price since the bottom. I'm guessing it will continue to underperform, like I've said for a while.
I've been bullish Snowline since the major discovery. I've only said that I don't know how much it's going to cost to build it with the road needed and all. But the discovery is world class and mkt cap isn't even that high. I would go with Snowline over NFG because it's much harder to say how much they have exactly and their mkt cap is much higher. But I can't even invest because it's listed on the CSE, which I don't have access to, instead of the TSX where 95%+ of mining stocks are. I don't want to invest on OTC.
>>54494086
Maybe the company is just terribly run, but I doubt that's the only reason. They are losing a lot of money and it just gets worse and worse. They actually do some exploration, but they just aren't getting good results.
I mean the CEO would have to be literally retarded if they are just mining shitty ore only because he stubbornly don't want to drill out these juicy veins for some reason. More likely explanation is that targets aren't that great so they are worried that they may just burn through all their cash not really finding anything and may then be out of a job.

I had no intention of throwing shade at you, but rather on the microcap junior believers.
>What I'm pointing out are the terrible terms of the raises. I don't remember companies giving out warrants below last traded price, that's pretty crazy.
It seems to come with the territory when liquidity is more tight. Rick Rule has I think correctly pointed out that if a liquidity crisis is coming, the small low quality juniors will have it rough. Higher quality developers will have relatively good access to capital because there will be a flight to quality in an environment like that. Much of that capital will come from institutions or high net worth individuals who are looking for private placements on favorable terms (for them). And much of the capital will come from cashed-up royalty companies. Banks will not be very enthusiastic about issuing credit, so some high CAPEX projects might face difficulties when nearing construction.

>> No.54494866

>>54494805
But gold is at 2000 and silver at 25, that is another reason why these terrible raises are surprising to me. Imagine what they would have looked like at 1800 gold and 20 silver.
But yeah I wouldn't be investing in any of these micro mines that just lose money even at these prices, unless they get REAL cheap.
I like looking at the micro caps because those have the highest potential and a lot of investors aren't looking at those due to low liquidity. But it's a minefield out there. Just because a company is $10M doesn't mean it can't be very overvalued. There are also a lot of small retail investors that will only pick these tiny companies looking for the big hit but not really knowing what they're doing, pushing up the price for no reason.

>> No.54494975

>>54494866
That's a good point, and if precious metals prices stay elevated or go up the juniors will obviously begin running. The worst of them that don't even have gold or silver will make insane gains when that kind of run happens, because they are the worst of the worst. Right now when money is tight and costs are rising everywhere and precious metals are doing very well, if a gold/silver mining company isn't able to make a profit they simply get the stinky eye from the market. There are many companies producing ample amounts of FCF at these prices.

The price action in miners recently is also an indication that the market isn't fully trusting this precious metals rally. It's interesting to see what will happen. I'm long for now but I have a significant amount of cash on the side because I would not be surprised to see gold fall -20% if the whole economy takes a massive shit.
