Just dawned on me today how far things go downhill every market cycle crash/end. I can remember exploring around a mall that was slowly fading in 00s and it was still lively and you could walk into electronic shops and play the original Xbox demo machine. Mid 2010s and it was turned into a skateboard shop/skate place, mall was on its way out by then but was still a comfortable experience to sit around and take in the slower environment and background music, like a slice of heaven. Now it's completely shut down mall is locked. Every crash just seems to degrade societal cohesion, and people nowadays just can't enjoy some calm moment, always noise always consuming something. No shit, people use them to get the name brand equipment. There was only certain things that were BPS branded. It's been decades since I've looked but back then pretty much the only things that were BPS branded were the Tracker boats, some of the clothing, they had their own rubber worms (but sold all the big branded ones), and the random "accessory". The point was *never* a focus on BPS brand. The boats were competitively priced and very well made though so were popular with people who couldn't or wouldn't afford the Ranger meme.
