I think Occam's razor says that your theory is too complicated. There's no long term incentive for the people in power to blow the economy up, that wouldn't benefit them. Study the ebb and flow of how the market works throughout the day. For instance wait until around 10:15am after the wash of the open and see if the buyers can start to rally or if selling pressure increases since that usually sets the tone for the day and day trade leveraged ETF's. Pros actually use this method and remember around 12-1pm the markets usually reverse the daily trend of up or down and then in the 2pm hour the daily trend continues and gives you a good idea of power or sour hour. Down days the market usually rallies leading up close to 3pm because orders start hitting the market around 3:07 which is when the market continues the daily trend of dump or pump.

This doesn't apply to random news event that can throw this entire strategy out the window and be ready to bail.

Let me tell you an old Native American story about the war between the beasts and the birds. Essentially, many moons ago, animosity and competition had grown so fierce between the two that one of them being genocided was the only thing they agreed on. The creatures of the waters were largely left out of this conflict, but there was yet another faction. The bats. You see, the beasts would often tear the birds to pieces, and in those times the bats would fly after them to attack their heel. But at other times the birds being experts of reconnaissance and movement would get ambushes on the beasts, and in these times the bats would attack with them. This went on for many many moons. But one day peace was found, and the two join, but they remembered the bats, and held a grudge. From that point on the bats would be forced to hide during the day, and to eat the bugs, and would be hunted by everyone else both bird and beast alike. I don’t know how to end the story. Alright. Well. Bye.

That's what I was thinking, I always avoided options since for me the decay is something that destroys accounts over time.
However I'm realizing that when market crashes (at top fomo like we are now with all the future NVDA bagholders waiting for 1000$) it's quite quick but also volatile so wicks can evaporate shorts & gain are capped.
However with puts the true downside is decay but countered with the fact that "crashes" are quick in nature, gains are almost not capped, and volatility can't destroy the position since it's not a borrowed position.

So puts are actually good products but only like 2-3% of the time (like in nov 2021 or now)

want to know something?
you can hedge a long with a short in something else.
it doesnt have to be more fancy than that.
as long as your long is making you more than your short is making you lose.
most people are too impatient for this. they think its not worth it, they want to get on the directional trade of the month and win loads of money tomorrow.

many either play it too simple just hodling tsla buying it after some huge bullmarket.
many others play it way to complicated.
the truth is in between.
look at the stocks that fell. I am sure you could have found a stock last week that would dump more than some other stock.
