Newfag here. I'm trying to do as much research as i can about crypto, but I'm more interested in cool tech and utility coins than just moneymakers. I've bought into btc and xmr, but I don't really have the time to chase the altcoin speculation meta. What are some good networks or chains that have useful or fun tech that might be worth researching. Obviously ethereum looks interesting, but there's a lot of shit to learn, so I haven't really pulled the trigger on it yet. What kind of technologies and and ideas should i look up to get a better idea of the modern crypto tech landscape?

I assume that's what a lot of people are doing; just gambling. There's just so much to learn about different technologies, and it's hard to figure out which are word salad bullshit. I also don't know much history about scams to know what to look out for.

Start with Ethereum. Many new chains are trying to be Ethereum killers, so to understand them you must first understand Ethereum.

actually you can skip Ethereum and go straight to Avalanche

You are a paid community marketer whose job is to lure in new dumb money. Do you work for Avalanche Hub? Avalanche Ambassadors? OP it's better to stay away from these grifters. If you feel the need to research about this scam, by the time you get into the development/marketing structure (it's a for-profit company for fucks sake) and tokenomics you'll be disgusted. It's a copy (a github fork) of Ethereum with a slightly different consensus mechanism and scaling plan (side chains instead of L2). A smart Avalanche marketer would guide to first learn about Ethereum and then shill what Avalanche does better, but you 3rd world shills will do the least work possible to lure people to your soft scam. Much like EOS 6 years ago. Picrel is New York subway before the token plummeted 90%.

best avoid all old cycle alts at this point or you'll be like the guys buying eos in 2019

Avalanche is doing everything better than Ethereum, thats why I said he can skip Ethereum and just go and learn about Avalanche.
>Picrel is New York subway
seems like that worked fine because now Avalanche has Bank of America, JPM, Citi, Deloitte on board.
They didnt bother with Ethereum because they want their own Subnets.

>>56713260
>muh EOS
Avalanche is nothing like that vaporware and Avalanche is actually getting mainstream adoption.

yeah, I'm well aware everybody has a pet coin or chain that they shill, which is why I'm more interested in the general technologies. I'll make my determinations as to the value of one versus another after I have more understanding.

So the next milestone that crypto reached after blockchains were introduced was the smart contract then? Alright. I'll keep reading.
