you're never going to hit 80% losses if you're not tracking standard expenses.
I'd suggest deducting premiums paid, shipping, electronics used to place orders and do accounting, credit card and bank fees associated with purchases, car mileage for picking up purchases, phone and internet access to purchase metals, possibly a home office so you can deduct parts of your rent or mortgage along with utilities and insurance costs, safe and space in the home for storage, stuff like that. Check with an accountant

if that doesn't get you to 80% you can start tracking inflation vs. spot, and deduct estimated taxes when you sell. Overall you should get pretty close to an 80% loss on silver. Probably harder to do with gold.

also none of this works if you live with your parents. In that case they're taking an 80% loss on your silver.

To add to this, your losses on silver will probably be much higher than 80%, but you can only write off $2k USD to offset other income in any given year. You can however roll excess losses over to following years. But then your risk running into the 3/5 rule. The IRS expects a business to make a profit three out of any five years, so you can't just constantly deduct losses on your silver.

also of course this only applies if you are buying and selling silver for a profit. Essentially running it as a business. Actively trading in it within a single year. If you're holding for longer than a year you get hit with the cap gains tax on collectables and can deduct no expenses aside from perhaps premiums paid and a portion of your cap gains tax from regular income tax. You can however deduct a loss if you sell for less than you paid.

So basically to hit 80% or much higher losses on silver you have to be actively buying and selling it within the year, and making normal business deductions, which will only be allowed for a couple of years before you have to show a profit. You get some leeway in the first years in business, but you have to prove to the IRS that you're doing everything you can to become profitable. With physical silver it is very difficult to make a profit while deducting normal expenses unless you happen to be a multimillionaire. And if you're a multimillionaire you already know this stuff.

you make the losses either way, you just don't realize it and don't count them. Nor does the tax man count them unless you work for them.

right? Like if you're sitting on the couch playing vidya all day losing money on silver, you're not going to be able to claim the losses. You have to put in some effort to have those losses posted to your books. You can't just invest in silver and lose 80%, you have to make a business of it.

Basically it's the difference between paying for a home AND buying and selling some silver,
vs
paying for a home TO buy and sell some silver.

if you're paying an expense so you can buy and sell silver, it's a loss. If you're paying the expense and also just happen to buy and sell some silver, it's not a loss. Intentions matter. And intentions are shown by actions.

>> No.56786891

>>56786847
When IQ promised you an 80% loss he was talking about 3 things:
1. premiums. These are real losses and the tax man counts them as losses no matter what you do
2. inflation. This is a real loss but is counted out of profits automatically by the tax man
3. opportunity cost. This is NOT a real loss and the tax man absolutely isn't going to let you deduct it.

I have thought about this for a few years now and made my buys and now I just wait and see. I bought 10 ounces of gold Maples and will stack silver that appeals to me. I have 30 ounces of silver so far. You guys know me. For some reason 2020 silver and gold was projected into the normie population. Why? Ask yourself, why? I go to TD precious metals and I can buy rolling stone silver, marvel silver. Why? There is only two possibilities. They, the man, whoever is either dumping or they are trying to get a little bit of silver and gold into as much households as possible. For what? I don't know. Either they know Bitcoin is the future and they are dumping all the PMs onto us or they know funny money is about to die big time. Why the big push in 2020. I didn't even know about buying gold in 2020. Why. Or Bitcoin is about to take over CBDC, one world govt. I remember in late 90s NBC broadcasting nosterdamus end of world programs. Why?

Hey scrapfren, if you are around, can you tell me if you find this coin sus or not?
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/134817987754

At first i thought she was alright, but then looking at bit more closely at it, i had the feeling she was a bit too 2 dimensional, with blunt shapes, i also noticed tiny spots of coloration (at the left of the left wing on the reverse, to the left of the crown on the coat of arms side).
Then a more worrying detail is all the examplars i've seen sold on auctions had a thin line in the hoop of the crown (probably not the right term, but basically where the head would be in contact if you wore a crown).

Am i too paranoid?
Here the coin's name :
>Sedan, Henri De La Tour 30 SOLS 1613
With a bunch of copies sold on CGB :
https://www.cgb.fr/ardennes-principaute-de-sedan-henri-de-la-tour-dauvergne-piece-de-30-sols-2e-type-ttb-,bfe_613066,a.html

There's plenty of made up propaganda that gets posted here on 4chan. The most hilarious one I saw recently is Athena's Owl being of Jewish Freemason origin. Anyone who has an interest in Greek mythology will know that Athena is the god of Athens in Greece. The name is almost spelt the same showing the connection, and we know that Athena is the goddess of wisdom, which is why institutions who enjoy symbology use the owl because it represents wisdom.

Once I reach my stack goal I'm going to get one of these owl coins because I like the symbology of wisdom, much like how I enjoy my sovs because of valor and courage.

No, you don't get it. Kikes created their kabbalist mysticism based upon the greek gnosis, but perveted all their teachings along the way. As always jews can't create, they can only appropriate then pervert things they come in contact with.
Nothing nefarious with the owl in greek symbolism, but once the rabbis decided to make it their own, it became shrouded in darkness. But why would you blame the symbol rather than the symbols' perverters?
Look at the rainbow, it's the same thing : a magnificient sight, symbol of the communion between men and the heavens, perverted to become filth linked with sodomy, anal prolapse and kids abuse.
Is the rainbow to be blamed for that? Or the old religions who made it a symbol of communion between the material and immaterial?

Leave the poor owl alone, she didn't ask to be perverted by literal shapeshifting demons.

The "moonshot" of silver necessitates a collapse of fiat event. You would need to convert your silver at the increased fiat prices and pay off your mortgage/purchase new property in the window between when your bank restructures your mortgage based on inflated USD, and any new currency is issued. I doubt that window will be very long. The silver moonshot is a longer play: you hold it until AFTER a fiat collapse and any new currencies are issued, then use/exchange it at it's increased value. Nobody stacking is thinking we're going to live in the same financial system but silver does a 100x.

Buy stocks or crypto for gains. Buy silver if you know the system is rigged and you want to keep something after it crumbles.

Not sure why you’re so upset about an owl but you still haven’t made it clear that you actually understand its origins.
Also, why do you feel the need to associate with symbols?
Do you really think jews are a new group of people who weren’t around before the Greeks?

>doomer phase
You’re in a fairy phase if you can’t provide a rebuttal.
Do people live long happy lives or short, traumatic and confusing lives?
Why is it so easy to die?
Why are we genetically programmed to die and have a hard time feeling fulfilled?
We does cancer, plagues and pedophilia exist?
Why do wealthy psychopaths hunt down children for sport?

The only way you can claim that this world is heaven is if you willfully ignore all of the negative aspects.

It was just a coincidence that spot had jumped 2 dollars that week. And of course if I paid with debit or credit I wouldn't get the e-check or bank wire pricing from my original order. To lose weight all you have to do is eat and drink less than 1200 calories a day. Do that for five days of the week and up to 2000 calories for two days of the week. I lost tons of weight when I did that and it is the way to keep the weight off you as you grow older. Losing weight isn't easy and there's no way to cheat it either. Takes enormous will power to stop yourself from stuffing your face.

No doubt that the Jews are absolutely certain of their victory and their ability to sway the goyim. I am however, not as certain as I once was. The eternal Jew will persist, even as his power wanes. Try to remember our past mistakes in the tumultuous times ahead. Noticing is not a sin, and “guilt” should never keep you from speaking the truth. If an ideology promises to absolve you of all your guilt in return for servitude it is a Jewish abomination. You might see many parallels. As I have said in the past, your rabbi Jesus was meant for the Jews, to weaken their in group preference and make them a more malleable people. This is why they both spit on Jesus and tacitly promote him to the goyim. It is not a beautiful religion, it is a slave morality for many reasons. One you can “know by its fruits”. In the end, if any lesson can be learned from the Jews it is that loyalty to your race and your people is what rallies true power. What you do with that power, does not have to be what Jews have squandered theres with. It does not have to be ugly, it can create a beautiful world rather than what is happening now, destroying an ugly world. The lessons of the past have to be spoken, and spoken often. It is not enough to leave them in a book. A book can be made to lie, without the speaker knowing it. A person can only be made to lie, if he has given up his principles, a book does not have that form of self defense. In the coming years, do not curse yourself for not being able to see what was right in front of you. You will still be guilty of not seeing it before, but that is a sin you will share with billions and the price of your ignorance has already been paid. Go forth, be defiant.

If you're looking for numismatic gains the tiers are roughly from best to worst:
1. Rare antique coins from the US mint
2. Common antique coins from the US mint in MS condition
3. Common antique coins from the US mint in circulated condition
4. US junk
5. US gold pre33
6. US tokens and medals
7. US bullion strikes
8. Rare antique coins from other countries
9. Ancients
10. Bullion strikes from other countries
11. Generic bullion rounds
12. Generic bullion, no design

Bullion coins are usually ass-tier for numismatic value, and generic rounds are the very worst when it comes to how few people collect them and pay a premium for them. They're the pogs of the numismatic world, because anyone can print more, and lots of people have.

some exceptions to each tier exist. For example the memcoins issued itt are generic rounds, but hold significant numismatic value, at least within the group of people interested in them. Similar case with RM's, which used to be trash coins but gained huge numismatic value largely because of /pmg/ and similar groups.

depends on the item. Disney likes to crank out a few premium art items with very low mintages and then mass produces cheaper stuff to sell to the average collector or souvenir shopper. So some is really rare, some not so much. All of it goes up in value.

sorry, foreign coins aren't collected as often as US stuff. Even beautiful bullion coins and rounds rarely go up in value, they're pogs. Mint bullion is a bit better, but not much. All of that stuff is at the very bottom of numismatic items. Most coin collectors don't consider bullion to be a serious collectable, even if it's government issued.

Like most stuff, if it's mass produced specifically for collectors, collectors usually don't want it.

Silver junk dimes are the ideal form of money. There is no way to calculate their value but it is possible to speculate on their value relative to other forms of silver. In a SHTF it’s silver junk that reigns supreme. I almost don’t like saying it because I know it doesn’t directly affect silver stores at the bullion bank level.

I love well handled and hard junk as much as the next man but I do have to ask: the copper alloy strengthens the coin, right? Why aren’t we making bullion out of more durable materials? You’re absolutely right, we should be making sterling silver money. It’s a series of hang ups about historical ratios of silver in terms of grains and grams. If we could re-reinvent silver currency we would make it sterling. “Investment grade bullion” is marketing to sell silver like a stock.

There's not enough silver for small denomination coinage. It's not a meme, folks, that silver is literally going to transcend its monetary role as it is already 'best-in-class' on numerous industrial uses.
I think some products will become luxury-only or even entirely disappear.
When the bond market goes bust things will fundamentally be revalued for a LONG time. And a physical commodity to store your money will have everyone's attention.
People didn't trust the banks after the Great Depression for a whole generation. But back then your money still had value even if the economy and stock market imploded. This time the banks won't have much to stand on other than some carefully construed welfare program to keep everyone bought-in, fed, working, and inundated. Most people won't have excess to save which is the goal of the WEF. We'll all work like ants for the service economy. Anyone with significant wealth will be grandfathered in.

Wrongo sister. We have 1 billion unmelted coins from 100 years ago. On top of the entire accumulated silver of the US and Canadian stackers that exist above ground and in coin/bullion form. It absolutely is ready to be a currency again and a ducking strong one at that. Whereas as gold will never be a currency.

The problem is not being able to get those coins into circulation. Good money will drive out bad and a lot of people holding silver will attempt to hoard it and use social services and survive without spending it for as long as they can. Anyone who acquires silver in a transaction will likely do the same.
I could be wrong, I am just brain storming. But I think it would be incredibly difficult to jumpstart this economy again with an insolvent banking sector, cratering service economy, and blown out welfare/pension/SS/Medical system.

Yeah ebay fees are outrageous rn. The issue is competing platforms always align themselves slightly below ebay at all time, ebay up their commission to 13%? Perfect, lets put ourselves at 12!

If you manage to do some volume, the commission drop at only 2% for sales 2K and above, that's more reasonable there. But one sale going south (due to a scammy buyer trying to fleece you) and it can really put you behind.

Idk if it's feasible in the US, but one way i found to mitigate the fees is to fuck over the postal services. Over time i figured out that there is no robot checking out if your parcel is over the weight marked on your stamp, as long as the format don't exceed a certain limit. Now i don't fucking hesitate to send 400gr packages with a 20gr stamp lol. Never got a problem after years of doing this. Even for international parcels, zero issues. I fell like pic rel when i found out this trick kek.
This way i get paid let say 5.90€ for stamping a parcel, but i only really spent 1.30€ on it, and pocket the rest. Also it's not rare buyers don't ask for grouped shipping fees, meaning if they buy 3 items they will be charged x3 shipping costs. I always offer shipping for extra items if the buyer bother to ask (literally just have to click a button on ebay), but if they don't, then i don't insist and pocket the diff.

Also look up on ebay for stamp books, you can find some pretty sick deals, like up to 30-35% below what they are sold for at the post office.

There is also a theory i need to verify, but for non-tracked parcels, i don't even believe there is any robot checking if your stamp is legit or not. Me think you can print them at home and there is no way they could tell, they probably simply rely on a very outdated system based in high-trust, white societies : trusting people.
Can you imagine lol?
So i'm gonna fuck them even more very soon.

Oh btw : fuck the postal services. FUCK YOU !

Oklahoma’s both the South and Midwest and has a very odd cultural blend. I’ve got disheveled store clerks bringing out a single plastic tote of silver in the nearby city but the sweet boomer grandma at the local antique shop has a silver stacking husband that often sells at spot. Back in urban Texas you would have ornate shops that charged somewhat out the ass and Jewed you heavily when selling. It’s fun seeing the cultural variations and my dream of buying gold and silver around the world excites me to see how weird and different they all can be.

I am aware of this issue. I’m spending half my stack on shit no matter what to get it churning locally. Many states have laws passed to receive it for payments of taxes and thereby debt. This preemptive action by the state will gut a glut of silver into government hands. Which isn’t bad for the stacker, it’s for this Same reason that fiat has its power. The window of acquisition is going to open and close in a matter of weeks to months, spend that shit, atleast half. Gold is unspendable, and it’s rarely ever been spent by anyone except the big boys. And so it will remain. There is an east west multipolar division brewing and the west will adopt silver and the east will adopt gold backed notes.

>> No.56794161

Do you want gold back notes or do you want silver which will be numerous enough to add to the value of trade between individuals with the added benefit of being an industrial commodity, copper/nickel will have its role too. And there is plenty of that to go around. We will not suffer when our purchasing power of our coinage does 100x as input supplies of other metals spiral into insane prices. We can use coins, we have used coins. Even a quarter will demand extreme purchasing power.

Signature : never. Insurance : when required or requested by the buyer. I require it for orders over 150 usually. Because over here it's not rare the simple tracked stamps don't update on the shitty postal website. When it happens, all i can do is pray the buyer is honest about it.
Back in July, for 2 weeks not a single tracking number was being updated on their website, this is extremely stressful when it occurs. But the "recommanded" (with postal insurance) updated just fine... Thankfully most people engaging in coin/cards collecting are honest, but there are always few bad apples.
At least with insurance they are forced to do their job properly because they are sworn agents in the end.
