Easy, the price lock function. You cannot argue with that when you can still lock your assets at all time highs and be comfy knowing you're shielded from bear markets. Ledger will always buy it back at a loss, per their contract.

I don't. Though I still use my original nano s which is too simple to be affected by the seed recovery controversy.

what else would they use instead?

trezor doesn't support their flavor of the cycle shitcoin and if they have ethereum they can't use any of the most secure ones that are all bitcoin only
the only other choices are made with untrustworthy yellow hands

You should have 3 copies of any important data. 2 of which are stored on different types of media, and 1 of which is off site.
USB drives are notoriously poor performers when written to a significant amount, and some are just plain cheap shit. SSDs, and anything that uses a real drive bus like SATA or PCIe will perform as expected, and will actually report their health via S.M.A.R.T.
I don't know anything about these hardware wallets, but I would never use one. The whole concept seems antithetic to a real backup and security

>I don't know anything about these hardware wallets
clearly
they're designed for processing not storage, keys are backed up elsewhere

>> No.57561115

>>57561081
They hold your private key for sure. Thats storage. Your seed phrase is your backup and should be saved following the 3-2-1 as before.
I had to look it up 'processing?' but it makes sense for someone who is paranoid-the hardware allows you to use your private key without storing it on the computer you are using. Seems fine enough for someone who wants an additional layer of security.
