This isn't true if you're going to transfer it into another currency. You're trying to do $ -> ETH -> XLM right? For simplicity's sake let's assume these transactions are instantaneous. So if you buy now, you get, for example, 1ETH and trade that for, say, 100 XLM.

If you want to wait until it drops to half, the value of $/ETH lowers, but so does XLM/ETH and so ETH/XLM rises. So instead of 1 you get 2ETH, but XLM now costs double the ETH so you get the same 100XLM.

tl;dr: just buy it now.

I had complete confidence stellar was going to hit 90 cents but not this damn quickly. Sold as I planned but lumens was so good to me it feels bad leaving it since theres a good chance it'll double by next month so I'll wait for the dip if it happens if not then it will be a fair well to my stellar friends
