Europeans are lost souls. I was talking with an English friend and I'm not sure we can be friends anymore. He's all in on renewables, on phasing out natural gas and, of course, coal too, and he wants people to use a lot less energy.
A lot of normal Westerners, especially outside the U.S., really believe in getting rid of all hydrocarbon/fossil fuels and want to put a major dent in industrial civilization. This English friend tells me that natural gas is widely seen as bad across the UK and Europe. And coal, well, that's the Devil's feces in their eyes.

And who says the cons outweigh the pros? Nietzsche and Spengler didn't think so.
Spengler said, based on his reading of Nietzsche, that
>Few societies can survive a long war, but no society can survive a long peace.
War is needed to cleanse a society of peaceful decadence and greed and unseriousness. War sharpens focus, puts real priorities first, reminds us that the natural world of life and death is the foundation of everything, not the abstract world of theory. Maybe the West's problems, like its degradation, lack of respect in people, desire for easy lives and free money, and low birth rates would be solved by a Great War.

Five times the size of Paris! What a waste of space.
And that coal billionaire is an apostate in the eyes of the Coal God.

>Currently, however, another 578 GW of coal capacity is in development. That includes 408 GW in China alone and is enough to power the whole of India.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/11/climate/global-coal-power-china-climate-intl/index.html

China is Coal Heaven, and has earned the Mandate of Heaven from the Coal God. It shall take the crown as leader of half the new multipolar world in the next few decades. It'll be healthy to be done with the American Hyperpower, or America as Sole Superpower, because lack of competition, including international competition, leads to stagnation, complacence, and laziness.
A good competition benefits everyone. We were better off when the Soviet Union was still around because we had a competitor and that kept our worst national urges in check.
I must visit China someday, like doing a Pilgrimage to the Land of Coal.

Global Energy Monitor (GEM) is a truly nefarious website. It was created by anti-climate change activists to, ideally, catalogue all coal mines on the planet, though they have mainly catalogued Western ones (American, Canadian, Australian). They even have an article on the location of all coal companies' headquarters, and they "monitor" coking/met coal mines too, wanting them shut down because "le carbon is ebil."

I really hate the greens. Their ideal world is definitely devoid of industrial civilization, probably doesn't have agriculture -- so we'd just be hunter-gatherers again like in the Paleolithic -- and most likely includes human extinctions. At least that's the case for the "deep greens," as they sometimes call themselves.

Here comes the war propaganda for the Jews:

>Less lovely is the corollary of this comfort: the moral decrepitude and cowardice that has sunk deep into our psyches. We are too narcissistic and bored, too cossetted and ill-focussed to be collectively courageous – or warlike. This has been devastating for the trajectory of the whole world in general and catastrophic for the safety, security and prosperity of the West.

>How did we get to this perilous pass? The answer is that we have spent the past decades focussing on made-up threats and burying our heads in the sand. We have elected leaders, and created political, policy and educational elites, who have wilfully pretended that the real threats – Islamists, global jihadi movements, their regime funders in Iran and the unvetted influx to Europe of migrants from countries steeped in their evil ethos – are just the fever dreams of a racist and backward fringe.

>In so doing, we have picked apart the rationale of robust defence – which sometimes involves the need to attack; and to die in doing so. By discrediting Western interventionism and military might, we have not made the world a nicer, cosier, more just place. We have merely given a green light to monsters happy to die if it means killing more of us.

Are you ready to kill and die like a badass warrior for the Jews, fighting against Jihadis who wish harm on the chosen ones? That's what this article is promoting for you. A young, courageous death!

But as to /cmmg/, a big war would be bullish for all commodities. Mining would take off like a rocket. Many new miners would be needed to extract the minerals needed for war-making.

>And so as Israel enters yet another month of bombardment from terror groups on all sides, with a dwindling number of hostages still alive in Gaza and anti-Semitic displays getting bolder every day in Britain and the US, I find that my patience is at an all-time low for the faux-astonishment and passive consternation at the prospect of Iran, a rogue state on the brink of being a nuclear power, directly attacking Israel.

The Jews demand you go lay down your young lives for them, lest poor courageous Israel suffer from endless attacks by evildoers.

But the economy will roar in a WW3 scenario, factories will be fully staffed and pumping out equipment, and miners will be working 72 hours a week every week. Total mobilization is entailed by a world war. Probably huge taxation as well

>> No.58396037

Absolutely sickening read:

>All of this, and the mindset that has allowed it to happen, has helped embolden Putin and Xi Jinping, and literally helped to arm Iran – with Israel paying the awful price.

>Yet, instead of thanking and helping Jerusalem as it takes on the ogre of the Middle East, we snipe at it, lecture it and threaten it – sinking low enough to moot cutting off arms sales in its hour of need.

>Will we wake up in time? We need to relearn the vital importance of the West’s role – and particularly that of the Anglosphere – in maintaining the balance of power that keeps us from global reversion to bloodthirsty servitude, religious mania and authoritarianism. Our leaders must stop misleading platitudes about fighting racism and Islamophobia and get real, acknowledging that it’s partly our fault that Iran, Afghanistan and Russia have become what they have – and that it’s in our gift to stave off the threat posed by their regimes.

"Americans" will keep standing it, because many new "Americans" are illegal aliens from shitholes where workers' rights, OSHA, first-world standard of living generally doesn't exist. America is being gentrified by people who'd gladly live in cartel mudhut neighborhoods to keep dragging the standards of living ever further down.
