Why does SWIFT want to use decentralized payment method instead of a centralized one?

>> No.6114336

because banksters know to not trust banksters

>> No.6114414

using a decentralized, trustless network is cheaper. /thread

Why does swift want to use a network that isn't their own

>working with swift on their own smart oracles
Is what smartcontract team is doing. Working on tech and giving it to swift.. if they were creating chainlink just for use by swift they wouldn't need to beg pajeets for 30 million would they

>> No.6114775

Because it's safer to automate shit when it's decentralized. Facebook brought up the same question, if you can read in between the lines they're just pawing the way and waiting for blockchain become the norm instead of only being associated with Bitcoin and Ponzi schemes. Evan Cheng will be the key figure when Facebook shifts into blockchain and you know what this means. This is my last shill before 100$ link. That's when we MIGHT use some hype speculator bucks

>decentralized network
>operated by swift

Pick one you dummy. The product is the chainlink network of secure nodes. That's what sergey dropped everything to develop.

SWIFTs strategy is to use fintech start-ups, this is because they know crypto experts know more than they do so they want start-ups to present them products and pocs rather than trying to be in charge and supervise things they don't have enough knowledge about. Buy now and hold until 2022

I hadn't thought of that. Evan Cheng seems to have been a figure in crypto for a while. So you're right it's probably not surprising if that's what he's working on.

Swift is already a centralized third party used by banks. Adding another on top of that would be pretty dumb.
Plus, it's a lot cheaper if you have a free market of nodes vs a centralized single party who holds the monopoly.

Pic related was the main slide at the Sibos demo.
Count how many times you read "Chainlink" on there.
Spoiler: six times.
