No it doesn't. LINK is used to pay for nodes and gets locked up by nodes in order to get prioritised by requests.
After the oracle market is saturated with nodes accessing all relevant APIs, the price stabilizes.
Even if ChainLink where to power the entire $1.5 quadrillion derivative market, the total market capitalization of the LINK token could still be for example $1,000,000,000 or less.
I'm not saying that ChainLink is bad project. I just think LINK holders have little knowledge about how price discovery works.

>> No.6530632

>>6530575
The Link token is proprietary to the underlying Chainlink network.
The more the network is used, the more the tokens will be in demand (node payment + node staking + contract staking + trading/speculation/investment).

Therefore the value of the token is directly tied to the success of the network.

You can't actually stake LINK. The only way to """stake""" LINK is by either being directly paid by a requestor who thinks you serve relevant API information, or by collecting punishment fines from other nodes.

Don’t say things you don’t understand. Watch for a zero day in their “trusted hardware”

Link = static buildout + single point of attack

Lots of pretend hackers holding LINK

They’re better than oraclize.it but soon they won’t be necessary. Also, does LINK even have a network deployed yet? Is it all just theory still?

Serious pump and dump coin. RIP. EOS is going to kill Ethereum and the “peer reviewed” slower EOS knockoff Cardano.

Link = Oracle nodes with a central point of failure. Banks aren’t going to trust a static hardware/software buildout. Link will probably be hacked.

If I believed in LINK I’d be racing to buy the blood. LINK is a step in the right direction but it’s retarded to hodl. Good day trading pump coin for peasants if that’s your thing.

They're not doing PAYMENTS over ChainLink, they're doing API REQUESTS.
ChainLink is not a PAYMENT network, it's an ORACLE NETWORK.
God fucking dammit.

If people where to actually transact money via the LINK token i'd agree with you. But LINK is not a cryptocurrency, it's a way to pay fees for API requests on the ChainLink network.

What are you even babbling about?
The hard part isn't creating an oracle; that part is easy like you said.
The hard part is creating a decentralized network of oracles, all competing with each other.

>Link = static buildout + single point of attack
>Lots of pretend hackers holding LINK
Are you 5 years old?

There will be a ton of independent nodes. The point being that multiple nodes will help process the same computations, at least for redundancy.
That means there is no single point of attack.

>EOS is going to kill Ethereum and the “peer reviewed” slower EOS knockoff Cardano.
Even if this happens, Chainlink will simply migrate and airdrop the tokens.

Finally someone who isn’t a complete retard. Why couldn’t there be a zero day on the static buildout of LINK?

Additionally fwiw I bought a lot of ETH at $8, sold at $250 and hodl a lot of EOS because it’s the next Ethereum.

Definitely not a pajeet. Good luck with your bags, and assuming programmers can’t code oracle networks that don’t rely on static buildouts to combat potential zero days.

Oracle is entirely reliant on Intel SGX. Banks won’t want to be. I can’t wait for the “chainlink killer” but it’ll probably just be a smart contract dpos blockchain with oracles built into the nodes. This will probably become common place.

Happy bagholding retard.

Same reason anything goes up in price: supply and demand.
Link will be used for four things: node staking, contract staking, node payment, and trading/speculation/investment.
The more successful the network, the greater the demand for these four uses.
