Hey /biz/,
Any econ majors here? Why is the third option the correct answer? Or is it? This isn't my hw but a friend asked me and I wasn't sure and now I'm curious. I thought it could be a mistake.

>>723187
that's wrong op, this is what an increase in supply looks like

>> No.723201

>>723187
It is the third option.

What are you, a freshman?

this
no options are correct

>> No.723209

The question doesn't seem to be phrased correctly, but C to D (option 2) represents an increase in quantity supplied.

>> No.723212

>>723187
because B is higher than D, you fucking shitheel.

>> No.723217

>>723187

The 5th answer answers the incorrect question, incorrectly at that, in regards to quantity supplied vs supply curve. D to B represents a positive shift from S1 to S0, because S0 represents a higher instance of supply.

>> No.723219

>>723217
This.

The question is shit on more than one level.

>> No.723221

>>723201
Why? No, not even a econ major.
>>723212
That just means the price is higher. How does that mean there is an increase in supply. Or are you just trolling?

>> No.723222

Alotta dumb niggers in this thread. D to B represents a DECREASE in supply not an increase.

>> No.723227

>>723199
That's what I thought, too. But I guess he was graded wrong for that.
>>723217
>D to B represents a positive shift from S1 to S0, because S0 represents a higher instance of supply.
How is S0 a higher instance of supply? Doesn't that contradict the pic posted here (>>723204) since S0 is the result of a left shift of supply, which means that supply was decreased?

>>723221

Notice the S lines. Those lines AS WHOLES represent their respective "values" of supply. In regards to supply (which is what's in question) and demand, as opposed to quantity supplied/demanded and price, ignore the points.

Yeah, I agree the question is bad. This was the next question (and so, it seems to be at least consistent with the previous question, but it might just be consistently wrong), and from what I can tell, there is a typo in the last answer.

Sure, but isn't S0 a left shift of S1, which means that supply decreased?

The answer to this question is D to B, not C to F. You need to get a better teacher, better hw, or a better school.

I don't go to that school (thankfully). It's a community college, so I'm not terribly surprised. Just to be clear, you agree that the answers (which are next to the check mark) are incorrect, right?

Agreed.

Read OP again or see (>>723247). This isn't my hw, my friend just asked my by text and I didn't think those were the right answers either.

A community college in New York. Good to know I'm not the only one who thought these were stupidly formulated questions/answers.

lol at the labelling of the points on curve pi_0.

notice that the question and the last answer don't even agree. One says 'increase in supply,' the other 'quantity supplied'. Whoever wrote this is a retard.
