I'm filling out an application for a studio apartment. Is it standard to need to give your social security number, checking account number, and balance? I'm feeling really concerned.

nope, ssn sure, but they dont need to know your checking account number and balance

in fact its not even guaranteed someone has those at all

apartments I have been at ask for ssn and a paycheck stub, unless it was a student apartment in which case they assume you are making no money so they dont even ask
