POWER HOUR edition

>where's the hedge fund?
A resident tripfag, obergruppenfuhrer (Comfy), requested that it be excluded until he gets the next version up and running. Will refund those involved. Stay tuned!

Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access

now that I've put the trip on
I just want to say to everyone who has been arguing with me for days about going short vs long on the bank stocks

Im not happy you lost money
Im happy that I made money, but I'm not happy that you are potentially looking at a big red number right now. Really.

I'm praying that you all sized your positions safely and did not go balls deep into any one thing like a crazy gambler. But if you did go all in and youre getting BTFO right now, just stay calm. We've all been there. Every trader who has been doing this for years has fucked up an account or two. You need to learn from it and practice safe sizing, so when you lose you can brush it off and say o well I lost that one, ill get em next time

cheers

man i had the shittiest day. first my internet got cut off cuz my neighbor is the one who pays the bill (and he fucking didnt). so then i pull my laptop and bring it down to the library, try to log on, but since i was using an unsecured wifi, shcwab thought i was getting hacked, and locked me out. had to call to get them to unlock it, but suddenly my phone got fucked up. then when i borrowed someone elses phone, they told me, sorry bruh, you gotta call on the phone we have registered for you.

finally managed to get back on 15mins after market close. on one hand im glad its this difficult to hack my account and that they take security rather seriously. on the other hand, what a fucking nightmare, just watching every single option go OTM and being able to do shit all about it.

on the bright side, the market selloff is real, my vol calls are ITM, my SLV puts look like ill be able to sell em off next week, and the banks had what i would consider to be a long awaited dead cat bounce. hopefully tomorrow isnt so goddamned fucked up.

Yup. kneepad girl's style of posting comes to mind. Introducing a persona is a distraction from what the thread is really about.

I'm trying not to go off building a reputation, but a tripcode imo distinguishes a shill or TA autist from someone like teh profit that actually knows what they're talking about. Multiple posters are trying to play the banks right now, and it's hard for me to tell who's doing autistic TA-esque shit and feeling it out with cherry-picked fundamentals rather than who actually reads up on their shit.

They are cheaper, but particularly with short term options, it does become much more like gambling in that you will either make money or lose it all.
That's why I do mid-terms with a plan to sell 1-3 months in advance of expiration.
The reason options can get so cheap is that they have such little chance of actually happening.
>it's way more likely to not reach the strike price at all, but cheaper gambling?

delta is the rate at which the option changes in regards to a dollar move in the underlying. say you bought a .15c contract with a delta of ten. the underlying moves closer to the money by a dollar, and the contract (excluding all other pricing factors) will be .25c now. obviously as it moves against you, this inverts.

>the fact that we can permanently link identities really detracts from the anonymity that we were all drawn to in the first place
Ok, I agree with that. There's a lot of carryover with this tripcode that I don't like.
I've tried just using it for long analytical posts, but I probably do at least one of those every thread, and as soon as I use the trip code, it ties all of my subsequent posts in the thread back to that carryover

Fug. That would be big.
I think Amazon isn't profiting as much from the retail side of things anymore, thankfully. I've heard AWS is their biggest source of revenue.

You know the drill. Buy high and sell low.

Very valid piece of information anon. I was also looking at their market cap, and with it's market cap so high I can't foresee that much more growth. But the price to earning ratio is extremely appealing.

they DO print money like its going out of style. just be careful. that stock has been getting hammered as of late. as a rule of thumb, you should never go all on any one thing anyway. but i guess with only 1k, you dont have much choice

They stick pretty exclusively to credit cards. The banks were just something they acquired.

>it just boggles my mind that these tards think they an get away with this again (especially since, after 08, what theyre doing is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL).
Yup. They want to make the exact same high risk invests they did before, but they have to do it covertly to get around regulations.
Where are you reading about their subprime exposure? I've heard it's solely through smaller banks that aren't as heavily regulated

yeah thats the trick. they lend a bunch to small banks that no one is watching, and then those banks lend the lent money out to retards for 96month car loans and other such retardations. its definitely true. im just hoping that the reality sets in before my put contracts expire. looks like WFC is already taking a bit of a beating after hours

How far out are they? This sounds more like the kind of risk from The Big Short for the smaller investors described -- the market can stay irrational longer than you can remain solvent

i got like 30 days left. well see what i can get out of em. i was gonna hedge with a call or two today, but my internet was shutoff, and schwab thought i was getting hacked when i tried to get on at the library. shit day desu. was gonna take my BAC winnings, and my AMRS mostly off the table but that shit got all fucked up too. i guess now what im gonna do is just nuke it to death with deep ITM calls and then forget about it for a while.

I will definitely follow through with diversifying very soon. I'm using Robinhood, so only 10% of my funds were available as of today (takes around 4 transaction days to use the full amount allotted).

Side note for all anons, you all should look into APPN, CIEN, and perhaps maybe YEXT for some potential growth stocks. Only the first two are profitable as of now, if memory serves me correct. But they were recommended by The Fool last fall.

I was close to having it ;_;

it was just a matter of filing paperwork.
I never did that because I though I would never need it

Now political political rhetoric towards immigration made a 180 in a year and on top of that a roastie was trying to put me in jail.

Been in this country for 20 years, can't say that I won't miss it, but I'm mentally exhausted and came to terms that I have no future here any more.Maybe someday I'll come back but there are better place to be.

keyboard warriors think somehow immigrants leaving the US would somehow make their life better. There is no real need for any body to leave the US, it's just a perversion these Maga kids have. The impact will be more negative than positive, a suden draw down of a tax paying base will only make the debt crisis that much worse, literally shooting ourselves on the foot.

There are enoguh non contributors- social handout leeches to probably make it break even. Theres a lot of abuse of the healthcare system right now as an example. Immigration should be a lot easier for people who actually work and contribute but the Dems need people to stay poor for votes and the Repubs need a boogeyman to divert attention from their own incompetence.

Yeah I have family. But Most of them live here and are US residents/Citizens but I don't really talk to them because I'm a social autist, Some of them have property in Mexico in my home state.

What kills me is that I will have to lave my parents behind and say goodbye to them and some close friends for completely no real reason.

The way I see it is that It's an opportunity to go to a new place and start a new life, cost of living there is 80% of the cost of living here, prostitution is legal, drugs and alcohol is cheap and I won't have to pay American taxes anymore. I'm saving up at least 100K before I move.
