Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

The opportunity of small investors is in the mental pressure being Nil. You play with small tools, and with no shaking in your hands you render such wonderful endings to your hobby. Be smart.
The opportunity of large investors is in the potential your money reveals to you. You must rely on methods of keeping your hands still, and when you find your courage you can bring the world to your knees (kneepads included).

theres a bunch of things that i dont want to happen (that im certain will) that will cause both oil and defense to go up. its all just about patience and iron hands. when we get shorted through that much bullish volume like we had today, you know were dealing with goldman. they will keep shorting it to assault you mind, and your soul, and your wallet (and shares). they prey on the weak. stand strong anon.

take the consolidation/red time and figure out where to put your stuff for the next run. accumulate, and then sell the next rip. this is how they do it, and this is how we do it too. were gonna make fucking bank on oil runs. just follow the manipulators. they know its going up, as oil just broke out. so they nuked it (watched 700,000 shares get sold on USO at the beginning of that dump). now they will suppress it for a little while, dump it a little more to scare anyone else off, then BOOM. lambo. just gotta find the best things to put our money in by the next week or so

Total shit show in the sector today. Shorts were having fun as it seems like a lot of people were diverting funds away from small/mid caps to FOMO in to Canopy. I was on a buying spree all morning. Got stopped out on my Namaste Tech position and used the proceeds to buy more stuff I think is on the verge of breakout. The contrast between US OTC trading yesterday and Canadian open market trading today was interesting. It seems the burgers are more bullish on the sector right now than the leafs. Maybe a good sign in coming years as US federal law on cannabis loosens up? Who knows. I will be watching and I will be riding that wave if/when it happens.

This week should be fun. My biggest position is now CRON and hopefully that'll get a nice bump when it uplists to the TSX main exchange from the TSXV here in Canada tomorrow.

IV is the implied percent that the stock could move over a certain amount of time (generally they get more volatile as more time on options obviously). now when things start to crash, they move very fast. faster than usual. thus a big bearish move will imply that the stock is going to be more choppy and volatile in the future.

IV can also go up if the stock moves up, but it generally needs an absolutely huge move to do this

>> No.9568501

Micron announced a 10bn buyback program yesterday, in addition to a higher future earnings projection.
It has a marketcap of only 60bn.

Even without the buyback, shares would have gone up to above 100 USD within a year or so. Now we might see 100 USD per share before the end of summer.

Currently sitting at 59.03 USD.

Don't sell out at 2x though. Micron is unironically going to 10x within 3 years once investors start really understanding Micron's (hushed) gameplan with chalcogenide switching technology and memory-cpu hybrid computing architectures, as well as its extensive research into multimodule multitype memory architectures of which hybrid memory cube is only the currently immature prototype little toy that is the tip of the iceberg.

Canopy is overbought on the daily now with a 78 RSI (4hour 85, 1hour 87). Pullback will be tomorrow or perhaps the next day if there is residual fomo tomorrow. Pump today was mostly about the approval for NYSE listing.

Aurora is a different story with same bullish pattern as Canopy but and RSI still in healthy range (50-60) on daily and 4hour charts. Looks good for continuation.

Aphria is somewhere in between the aforementioned. They probably need big news to really get going this week.

CRON has less bullish chart appearance but also more short term upside. I expect this one to pump tomorrow with the uplist to TSX.

Tetra Bio Pharma is currently in bollinger band squeeze position and likely to breakout soon-ish. TBP is Aphria's oil extraction lab, mainly. They also do some of their own greenhouse growing.

Another is Future Farm Technologies, but their chart isn't as healthy looking as TBP's right now. They're a US play with assets revolving around LED growth lights, industrial hemp production, medical dispensaries in a few states and a large operational greenhouse in Florida they bought out last year that they are in process of applying to convert to cannabis (it currently grows tomatoes).

Of the new two right now, I would go TBP.

think about it

if a company has extra cash, they can either hoard it (increasing their book value and therefore their stock price) or return it to the shareholders as a dividend. either way the shareholders get the value
lets say stock A is worth $100 and they return $1 as a dividend per share and stock B is worth $100 and they hold the cash and their share price goes to $101
in both cases the shareholder now has $101 but in case A, the shareholder gets taxed and in case B taxes are deferred.

They are burning through cash like crazy, they literally are facing perhaps their final year before complete bankruptcy, and have a less profitable business model than Uber. speaking of gambling, someone stop me from buying like 50 jun1 16 strike puts on SLV tomorrow. i figure if i can catch a red day and then a big gap down after the FOMC i can get anywhere from around 2.5k for a 50cent move. i figure theta would be, relatively speaking, the least of my worries, as id be essentially simulating shorting SLV with the force of around $90k. i figure it shouldnt be so hard to off my contracts to some other numbskull or some hedgie who fucked up. since its ITM far enough, with such little time, theres almost no time value to it at all, so even if EVERYTHING gets fucked up i should be able to back out without too much pain. not expecting metals to go anywhere but down tomorrow anyways (and the night after that). all in all, id be in the trade for a day and a night. theres the spread (which is minimal on SLV at like .02cents), so id be eating around 100+commissions each way, but i mean, who the fuck cares? i get to pretend to short SLV like im some bigwig who trades in 100k lots.

someone talk me out of this

The used car industry is going to continue to grow for two reasons. One is the price of new cars is going up exponentially and people just can’t afford new ones. It's still a fuckhuge market for a fucking long time, because existing cars can't be converted easily into self-driving cars. I don't believe individual cars will go away neither, at least not totally. I mean, most people could do without a car nowadays, but choose to buy one anyway (I'm one of them).

Right now, from what I've seen, R-N and VW are extremely well set on the future market of self driving, R-N may have an edge with its new integrated electronics architecture rather than slapping another chip on top of the cake.

However, what's pretty sure is that the market is due for consolidation and mergers once the tech takes over.

I get painfully bored of netflix after about 1 show binge for a few months. Guess that's what happens when I am someone that still reads books and am not used to the taste of vile shit plot.

The technology already exists. Navya is already selling self-driving cabs and it hasn't rekt the market. I took such a cab this week-end and it wasn't bad at all.

Just in case, if I wanted to go in this ride I would degenerately gamble on auto parts manufacturers rather than cars manufacturers tho.

Honestly, as bad as Stephen King can write, shows writers are a hundred times worse.
Under the Dome was a travesty of something that was already shit to begin with. It's not only netflix, it's the whole industry.

Lucky bastard. I got 200k on my 07. Hoping to keep it as a beater when I get my newer one. Some old man showed up to work the other day with a 90 model similar to mine. I begged him to sell it but he wouldn’t.

They just won't get rid of any personalities so they have boomer anchors that are going senile like Kudlow and co. The weird rambly talks with awkward pauses are just hitting new highs.
