How did you do today and how will we do tomorrow?

Popular brokers for stock trading:

Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access

TD Ameritade
>$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service

I would split your money between OKTA, SHOP, SAIL, and NEWR (all of which are recommended by Montly fool). But to be honest, I haven’t bought NEWR, and just don’t know about the company to give a convicted recommendation on that one.
The others I either own, or have been trading in and out of for about a month. And in a month I’ve made 23% return on my investment. Granted I went into SDRL on the ground floor, but look for yourself how much these stocks have gone up in the past month. Tremendous returns and growth.
Not sure how long the bull market will last, but whenever there is another crash I recommend buying into these companies for sure.

My favorite long-term ETFs are SOXX, ITA, VOO, and IGM

The 3x leveraged ETFs I use to scalp on market dips or sector dips are UDOW, SOXL, DFEN (this was actually a year-long hold for me because defense was killing it in 2017), and EDC. Be very careful with these. Make sure when you buy the market dips that they dip HARD--like when the non-leveraged market/sector goes down a good 1.5-3% (the specific sector usually dips the hardest). These 3x leveraged ETFs are meant to decay towards $0--and noted in their prospectus--and should only be used for short-term or day trading. I have been burned real badly in the past. But this technique had helped me greatly our-perform the market the past few years.

A protip I got after years of being a retail salesman : consumers don't need anything: in reality, they only want something that is being shilled to them and what is on offer.

Morning all

The US luxury car market is mostly BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and a little bit of Lexus (Toyota). American brands like Cadillac and Lincoln are basically dead

However, a LOT of the "German" luxury cars for the American market are actually made in factories in the US (in non-union "right to work" states like Alabama), because there was already a 2.5% tariff before Trump even got there

So this isn't going to affect them much, I don't think. Like most trade regulations it mostly protects the big established companies against any newcomers.

The US has a trade deficit of $90 billions per year with the EU on a total trade volume of $590 billions. It's a very small imbalance compared to China (trade deficit of 350 billions on a 450 billions total).
Basically, both of the US and the EU have a lot to lose in a trade war, it's not one-sided like with China.

Also the US total overseas commerce is more exposed to this trade war, since nearly half of its exports are towards the EU. The EU on the other hand, has only one third of its exports towards the US.
