You just pay the people at the bottom more and that money will go directly into purchasing more basic goods, raising prices.

If we want to make a better world for the people at the bottom, we have to increase the supply of those things. Not increase the amount of purchasing power of those who demand them- prices will simply adjust until the amount of those things produced and distributed is in equilibrium with the amount of dollars demanded of them, which is still going to leave people hungry, uneducated, unhoused, lacking medical care, etc.

You can't get around the problem of there not being enough stuff for everyone by tossing more dollars in the crowd so more people can compete for the same limited amount of stuff. If the amount of stuff doesn't change much, then the number of winners and losers won't change much. You just have to have more stuff.

Yeah, you're right.

I just believe the rich vs poor mentality of the 2 party system kept us in check well in the past as far better in the past. I think it was purposefully transformed by both parties colluding together to turn us from economic politics to identity/social politics to where "Liberal" became a dirty word. When they suceeded in doing that, next was to dismantle progressive taxes and implant a free-market religion-like ideology into susceptible people is what I'm personally upset about.

He put in crazy interventionist policies that destroyed the economy and impoverished Americans for over 10 years.

We only got out of the depression AFTER WW2 when we dramatically cut taxes, spending and most of his retarded regulations.

Well it's actually a complex topic and a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't really do it any justice. It was actually pretty bad when FDR became president and alot of that is laid at the feet of Coolidge and Hoover, so it doesn't really fit this narrative you got going on.

If you want to see what FDR-like policies looked like as an experiment, you should look at post-war Japan, where much of Japanese politics are still heavily influenced from the liberal policies of the administration at that time. The pros and cons of that are kind of too much to discuss here but if you care to delve deeper into that, I think that's a good place to start.

Bullshit
Both of these people, Hoover especially were massive economic interventionists.
Their policies along with the loose policies of the federal reserve created the bubble and the resulting mess later.

First off FDR wasn't a liberal.
He was against economic liberalism, against economic freedom. He used massive state control over the economy which choked and stagnated it.

Secondly, Japan used FREE MARKET policies to build their country after ww2.
They embraced markets and that's why they are so rich.
Inb4 you talk about their state infrastructure investments or something.
