by having an active position you also receive the benefit of funding rebates depending on if theyre going toward longs or shorts

they wont net you a lot, but if you plan to have a position open for several weeks, you can net a fairly substantial percentage through funding rebates

there are too many factors at play for me to really say anything with accuracy. the funding rate oscillates between positive and negative values, meaning the funding rebates oscillate between benefiting the shorters and the longers. Given market conditions, if you had a 1x long open for the last month, you wouldnt make nearly enough in funding rebates to cancel out the ABSOLUTE FUCKING JUST in value your position would experience in Unrealized PNL
