Complete brainlet here wanting to start on crypto. How much knowledge do you have to have in finance to manage this shit? How much do you have to invest into this to hope for a decent return? Is the crashing market meme true?

Personally I read articles on investopedia for 3-4 months, and I’ve done quite well. It helps to get in while the market is low though (ie. now)

Depends on what your idea of a decent return is. I’ve made about a 400x return on crypto since my initial investment in 2014, although that type of return is less likely to happen now.

If you are asking whether or not markets crash the answer is yes. The crypto market is currently coming off a crash due to an unsustainable bull run last year.

Most people in crypto (including biz) far from have the the financial knowledge to beat the markets long term. I bet 95%+ of biz wouldn't even know how to go about pricing a fiat currency. Because of the huge gains in crypto a lot of people who got in lucky think they are skilled investors, but in reality they just got lucky (I got in early too fwiw).
