The thing I like positive wise about Tesla is it was 340-350 before this drama.

An $8 premium because of saudi arabia/buyout possibilities seems good. I just like the odds + relatively low IV. The ATH is over 380 and that was at a much worse state in the company revenue wise.

Nothing about this stock makes sense though but I think the value is okay and it has that insane potential.

Anybody into daytrading here?

I have up to $800 to spend, I have spotted AMD as a good day trading stock.

But I suck at it.
I started out with $1000 at the beginning of the month.

What happens is that when I luck out on a trade I always wait for it to go further up and it doesn't.

When I change strategy and open various trades and try to accumulate small profit ($25~$50) it goes well for a while then it just takes one bad trade to make all these profit go to the bin.

Next target is an hour before close as this is usually the next low. It will them try to happen up before the bell. Keep track, use limits. disagree on the potential, as i think their window of opportunity is closing fast. competitors will outdo em once they get the tech (apparently other US autos are ready to step in w affordable electric cars).

but the only reason i bothered with this trade is because of the cheap IVs. when i see that stuff, i start thinking about the long odds. 50 bucks is totally worth it. especially since i think he fucked up. its a fine line, and he HAS been orchestrating media stuffs to keep his stock afloat (been saying this ITT for months now). it was time i put my money where my mouth was, and the announcement made everyone go a gaga again

i actually see a large panic causing SHORT treasuries to get bought up this time, as i think theres larger credit risk out 30 years at this point. this would actually normalize the yield curve. current retard bullrun aside, a lot of faith has left in terms of the sanctity of the U$D.

Stick to a strategy that gets you profit, no matter how smol, and keep doing it.
One brainlet and absolutely moronic method here that only works if you have a ton of shares to buy/sell of AMD.
For a week's worth of data, find:
>the previous closing price
>the previous day's lowest point
>the previous day's all time high
>the pre-market price 5 minutes before the open
>the after-hour price 5 minutes right at close
>and pay attention to any good or bad news that affects AMD directly or indirectly
If you can't spot the difference and adjust accordingly by a few cents each time, there's no helping you

here's a rough example:
previous close of AMD: 19.10
previous ATH of AMD: 19.65
previous low of AMD: 18.90
pre-market price of AMD today: 19.20-22
The low and the high gives you a range of $$ to work with, 19.65-18.9 = 75 cents to work in
Round down from nearest whole number, so that's actually 70 cents
now look at the pre-market price,
19.20+.70 = possible high of 19.90 for AMD
so before opening set a conservative sell price of 19.80, don't get greedy

eventually when your shares get sold:
look at previous close price, 19.10
do 19.10 + half of that 70 cent difference
so 19.10 + 35 = 19.45
round UP, so 19.50, but I'm a nervous faggot so make that 19.55 according to my guts
you now have a buy price, so set that, wait, and forget about it until it's bought
you then have your day's neetbux
rinse and repeat by finding the difference each time
practice this until you get the hang of it before committing any money and your gut tells you what's right
this method assumes that AMD is trending in a particular pattern and nothing else is going to fuck it up, like earnings reports or some global asshole tanking
if your gut tells you don't do it, don't fucking do it
smol gains are gains, even a dollar

i look at put/call OI and also put/call IV a lot to judge investor sentiment. i try to bet w the options writers. i like buying contracts for things when i see their volatility is priced too low.

as for my understanding of the world, idk m8, ive been on these sites (chans) typing a lot for a really long time. i always try to ask people lots of things if theyre from far away or have experience i dont, and i write fucking everything down that i learn.

most of my stuff that i have been calling have been a result of comparing different things together and trying to find relationships that repeat historically and recently. you can do this by spread charts, or by looking at futures curves, or by comparing things that usually inverse/follow each other etc. once you find relationships like this that are reliable, start watching them and dont place a trade until what you think will happen is confirmed by it

in terms of indicators ive been using lately
>keltner channels
>CCI
>CMF (or rather my edit of it, the shekel flow)
>OBV
more recently ive started to use bollinger bands/BBW in conjunction w keltner channes, as you can see when vol starts getting out of line. also, tho not an indicator, i like using probability graphs to stay within 1 sigma for my moves/price targets. i like my ribbon meme oscillator (i guess its a guppy), and muh autofibline thing too.

the only other trick i can think of thats noteworthy (cuz i almost never see anyone use em) is point and figure graphs. useful for picking options strikes and useful for smoothing out ugly commodities/bonds charts

books?
i liked that one book "economics in one lesson" when i was starting. really simple and covers a lot. richard wyckoffs "how i trade stocks and bonds" is good too. and ive been reading jesse livermores book these past few months, which is awesome imo

but seriously, dont copy me, im still a n00b and i know it. ive just been getting better as i start to understand relationships

As for the go long LT US Bonds thing, a favorite fund manager of mine just wrote the same
He said we are in an old time classic of financial turmoil, which is the USD shortage

And i remember talking to you on this funny fact : why would people buy LT bonds in times of crisis while ST bonds yield the same ? The answer I figured out was duration : the FED will surely agressively cut rates sending LT bonds soaring (more than ST ones)

Intraday trader here. Your issues combined (1) waiting for it to go up further and it doesn't and (2) one bad trade blowing up your profits sounds like you are not controlling your downside enough and you're potentially structuring your risk-reward poorly. You make these $25 and $50 profits, then blow them apart on one bad trade right? So if we clamped the amount you lose on these bad trades, you'd theoretically be more profitable? That's the question I'd look to answer. If you're making .25-.50 points a trade, that might not be that bad, but it depends on how quickly you're cutting losing positions.

You can control the stock you trade, position size, when you enter, when you exit at a profit, and when you exit at a loss. From those ingredients, fortunes can be made. If you could pull that .25-.50 consistently and clamp ALL of your losers around a level of downside that makes sense to you, depending on how often your setups worked out for you, you could have something to work with there. No single trade should be fucking up your P&L that badly. All that being said, it might also be that AMD is not in fact your stock and you're getting chopped up because you're trading it like it's trending, when in fact it's going sideways and would be better to fade.

Make trades that are logical. Compute a rough probability of the stock hitting a price that makes you profit, but also take a look at your reward/risk ratio. Even if you are sure a stock has good fundamentals and technicals say to buy, hedge your positions. Taking half of your possible profit is usually better than risking your entire investment for 1~2% more profit. Pay attention to the first few minutes after the opening bell because that's usually when smart money makes their positions for the day. Futures and pre-market data sometimes help you get a rough image of overall market movement for the day.
