Today i worked nonstop. Came home and passed out barely woke up in time to take my girlfriend to an expensive dinner where she scoffed at me in disgust that i ordered water and the second cheapest thing on the menu. She ordered expensive wine and expensive food and spent all dinner on her phone.

Starter position in finance firm. I've heard that this is the foot in the door and almost everyone I work with is treating it the same. I think it's a necessary evil.

I'm almost at this point. Had to take over for the controller 6 months ago and no idea what I'm doing (intern). We have a gov't audit coming and shit is not in shape. I'm literally the only person in the finance dept and I'm a contractor. Will I face any legal repercussions if I just walk out as soon as my next check cashes? Actually not until the check after this one since our GM is retiring next week as well. I have enough crypto to make it. All I know is I really can't stay in this cage any longer. It's killing me. I can't even concentrate on other places to work because my energy is so drained working here.
