>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

if you continually invest on a regularly scheduled basis with a set amount of money, and do so over time, you will beat out anyone trying to time the market. i will continue to invest how i've always invested and do so for the next 10-12 years until i retire early. if we hit a recession soon, i could conceivably retire in 5-6 years depending on if my work is significantly affected or not.

i long everything.

2/3 of my portfolio is in mutual funds (Growth, Income, Emerging Markets, and a World Fund) mostly in growth and income though. Auto investment of about $550 per month in equally spread out across the board.

I also have a divvy portfolio (1/3 of my investments) with about 20 stocks in it that I use to gain passive income. I get divvies and cap gains from my mutual funds, but me choosing the stocks specifically lets me pick ones I think are undervalued and also allows me to choose when my paydays are.

Since my mutual funds are steadily growing (8-10% per year), most my new investment goes into my dividend portfolio to get compounding interest on reinvested dividends.

Its a safe strategy I prefer. but one that works nonetheless. i certainly haven't gotten rich quick though.

solar can be good for residential use, but it cant scale up for industrial use, even covering the 50% of all land on earth it still wouldnt be enough to power the worlds current energy needs, not to mention future needs

wind and hydro are two others that cant scale up (and not really good at all for local wildlife)

and geothermal is far too restricted by geography, and wouldnt work for powering places far away because diminished efficiency over large distances

>>11731163
solar also has terrible efficiency (10% of energy is useable, compared to combustion engines very shitty 20%)

nuclear is the only way, and the cleanest safest power source there is already

government and initial costs are the only reason we havnt converted to more nuclear use already

I don't know if you're thinking peak oil, or just transition from oil. Either way, it won't happen, not in 10 years. Oil is literally the blood of the system. If no oil in 10 years, it's literally a world collapse, plain and simple. And don't think for a sec we'll transition to 100% electricity vehicles and shit in 10 years, it's impossible. And I'm not even talking about your regular car. Think heavy vehicles, industry/construction vehicles, etc. Or governments in every country that matter better man the fuck up and build 10 nuclear power plants per year for the next 10 years. Won't happen because people are pussies fed up by lies about nuclear risks by shitty NGOs

What are you’re goals and how long will it take you to achieve them?
How much have you gained and since when?
What has been your biggest mistake/s so far?

I re-read their previous reports, they planned to be EBITDA positive (+$10M) for the whole year 2018.
I think investing on fundamentals sometimes mean bagholding if your bullish thesis has been unchallenged

Holding isn't the problem in that circumstance, mistiming your purchase and then panic selling is
If you had held even when it hit the bottom (and possibly dollar cost averaged on the way down), then it wouldn't be an issue

You are too retarded to be alive

You seem to assume that all stocks will go down over time, when that isn't the case at all if you don't buy shit companies
The important thing is doing research before you buy a stock instead of just FOMOing into things that are going up
If a company has good fundamentals and you time your entry well (during a short term dip), holding can be a very lucrative strategy

Really, even if you don't buy in during a short term dip, it's still a lucrative strategy in the long term if the company has good fundamentals
Buying during a short term dip just makes it more lucrative in the short term

I feel like you're having an argument with someone who doesn't exist. I'd say if you're actual stratagy is long term holding you should just regularly put part of your income into indexs and never look at a graph in your life.

The original post was nothing more than an extention on the buy high sell low meme with the observation that people here claim "HODL" right up to the point that they capitulate.
