stop capitulating, you little bitches edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

The problem with cars that don't run on gas is that they're ungodly expensive to fix. I've heard reliable mechanics say the repairs cost so much that a lot of time people will just say fuck it and trade it in for a new EV.

EVs are a cool concept, but still far from accessible to the average consumer IMO.

In b4 hurr durr mechanics just want your money hurr they're lying hurr.

NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) is a very common and often symptomless disease caused by the buildup of fat in the liver. In some cases, people with NAFLD will develop NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis), in which inflammation and liver cell damage are present in addition to the buildup of fat in the liver. In its later stages, people with NASH can develop fibrosis (scarring) in their livers, which can in severe cases progress to liver cirrhosis, an extremely serious and life-threatening condition. The NASH market is forecasted to be worth $20-$35 billion dollars by 2025, and most large players in the NASH space (MDGL, ICPT, VKTX, etc) are focused on treating fibrosis and preventing progression to cirrhosis. One example of a company focused primarily on treating cirrhosis, however, is GALT.

>> No.12147157
File: 129 KB, 800x473, 1544071136584.png [View same] [iqdb] [saucenao] [google] [report]

GALT's sole competitors in the NASH cirrhosis space are CNAT and Gilead. CNAT missed primary endpoints in its most recent clinical trial, and Gilead's NASH drug has shown mixed results in clinical trials. GALT's primary drug of interest, GR-MD-02, works by inhibiting the action of galectin-3, a molecule implicated in a wide variety of diseases, including NASH, cancer, fibrosis, endometriosis, and asthma. In a phase 2 clinical trial of GR-MD-02 for the treatment of NASH cirrhosis, GR-MD-02 showed a statistically significant and promising effect in the reduction of hepatocyte ballooning (occurs when hepatocytes, a type of liver cell, increase in size and then explode and die) and in preventing the formation of esophageal varices (enlarged veins in the esophagus that can rupture and cause life-threatening bleeding). It did, however, miss its primary endpoint in the reduction of HVPG (hepatic venous pressure gradient). This may have occured due to an error in trial design. Per recently published FDA guidelines, phase 2 NASH clinical trials should last 12-18 months, which GALT's trial did not. Additionally, its effects in the reduction of hepatocyte ballooning and preventing the formation of esophageal varices were promising enough that GALT has moved onto Phase 3 clinical trials in NASH. In addition to NASH, GR-MD-02 has shown promising results in the treatment of melanoma and head and neck cancer, significant increasing Keytruda's response rate in a recent combination trial. GR-MD-02 is safe (producing little to no significant side effects) and relatively inexpensive to produce (being derived from apple pectin).

Fact of the matter is that on a macroeconomic level, we are at the end of a financial cycle. We're frankly overdue for an economic downturn of some kind. The real question is how bad it will be, and when exactly it will start, not whether it will happen at all. The "Golden Bull Run" that gets memed about ALREADY HAPPENED, you just missed it. The inflation of bond and stock markets over the past decade vis a vis the actual economy was massive and could never last forever. That doesn't mean it's literally doomsday (hey it might be) but we're in for not just a bear market but a bear economy.

Still nothing but good news from the company, except for some potential dilution in the form of stock options issued to employees with a strike price of $10-ish. Debt is high-ish but half of it already got refinanced at low interest rates.

My name is Jerome Powell, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are poor, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day looking at stupid ass charts. You are everything bad in the the economy. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten any dividends? I mean, I guess it's fun making fun of people because of their poverty, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than buying Big 5 at $9.50.

Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I'm pretty much perfect. I am Chair of the Federal Reserve, and hand picked by Trump. What investments do you make, other than "jack off to naked drawn Japanese people"? I also get mad gains, and have a banging hot girlfriend (She just did some technical analysis; Shit was SO cash). Reminder that the boomers have not yet been told to panic sell by their MK-Ultra mindmasters on the news. Reminder the constant up and down we've been seeing is the big players slowly pulling out before they initiate the dump proper.

So since crypto is pumping right now I assume that a lot of money is moving from the stock market to crypto at the moment to hedge against the risk of recession.

It also makes sense when you think about all the big players who know what they are doing - during the crypto rush of 2016/2017 they probably made huge profits and then moved to the stock market because it was so bullish. Now that has reversed and they pump money back into crypto to create another rally and pull out more profit to return to the stock market. Rinse and repeat.

Is there some sort of truth to this pattern?

The indices are very close to February's low. A dip below that price is a mass sell signal for everyone. You don't want to be long on anything if it breaks.

S&P February low is $2532. Current price, $2557 and shaky.

I am genuinely thinking about just buying QQQ/SPY with my $1k a month additions, been investing for just under a year so I currently have around $10k split 50/50~ between SSO and QLD. They certainly are the much better idea on low volatility bull markets, but we areup and down enough right now it may be right to start lowering my leverage by buying 1x ETFs.

Im not selling though, dont want to deal with the taxes stuff and my time horizon is about 15~ years until retirement, I can wait.

Do you do any TA with the ichi cloud? The strategy might be to buy 2x ETFs when everything points bullish, and 1x ETFs when we are looking bearish. DCA into everything no matter what, keep adding principal, but leverage up and down as the markets look sketchy or ideal.

It's almost like sovereign states are also accumulating that much debt, and when the corporate bubble bursts interest rates will continue to sky rocket based on increased volitility and risk causing shithole's like the entirety of south america, turkey Italy and greece to collapse which will further destabilize the world economy followed by a no deal brexit causing the EU to implode
