Toroidal Metaphysics edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Right? It's insanity. They sell a suit jacket blazer thing for $1100. It's not even insulated. Ridiculous. Nevertheless, I work on a uni campus and see tons of kids (mostly girls) wearing these every day. As lifelong leaf, my assessment of the quality is meh. I mean yes, they're nice enough, but you don't need to spend anywhere near this much for a durable and warm winter coat. North Face or Columbia, both of which are also overpriced, will sell you a primo go climb K2 and fall and die because you're dumb kinda jacket for 30% of what the Goose jackets cost.

No, the reason behind it is because since the golden days of cod are far gone they want as many players on mw4 multiplayer as possible so that you can get loaded into any game mode as fast as possible. They also didn't even wanna release MW2R because of the no russian mission. It was actually meant to come out last year but because of all the mass shootings they put it off and they are actually contractually obligated so release it because of something with playstation. MW3 's campaign will also be remastered as a way to catch everyone up with the MW story up to this point. I mean seriously, if they could pull the numbers they had back in the late 00s early 10s why did they stop putting the number of how many players are online in game? It stopped with ghosts because the game failed so hard. I know a lot about whats going on inside activison and even knew about the lay offs back in early january. I think its possible it'll get a pumped when blackout goes F2P but we'll see.

The reason I'm holding GALT is because of the science (its performance in clinical trials being good enough to move onto phase 3 in NASH, as well as have promising performance in a combination trial with Keytruda in melanoma, the role galectin-3 plays in the development of liver fibrosis, tumor metastasis, and the potential of galectin-3 inhibition to alter the tumor microenvironment in such a way as to allow the immune system to attack cancerous cells)
Recently published FDA guidelines want NASH companies to focus on treating fibrosis and preventing progression to cirrhosis, so I think that companies with clinical trials focusing on liver fat content (like MDGL, VKTX) may suffer as a result of this
Another thing separating GALT from other companies is the niche it's aiming for
Most NASH companies are focusing on noncirrhotic patients with fibrosis, but GALT is specifically focusing on reversing fibrosis and preventing decompensation in patients with compensated NASH cirrhosis
Competitors in the NASH cirrhosis area (Conatus, Gilead) have delivered less than stellar results in clinical trials. CNAT recently failed to meet primary endpoints in phase 2 clinical trials, and it just came out today that GILD's NASH candidate, selonsertib, failed to meet primary endpoints in phase 3 trials. Belapectin (GALT's primary drug candidate) currently appears to be the single best option for patients with late stage NASH cirrhosis, taking into considering both efficacy and safety profile (it has very few significant side effects).

The company's board of directors, Richard Uihlein, is a billionaire and recently extended a $10 million line of credit to the company that they're free to use until 2021. The company has also has a strategic advising company on its payroll for nearly 8 months now, and has openly stated to be seeking strategic alternatives (ie: a partnership or buyout)

The company's largest institutional shareholder recently converted all of their series B preferred shares to common stock, and insiders have been buying stock and/or being granted options in significant number
Taking into consideration the line of credit and internal confidence in the company's financial prospects, I think dilution is unlikely at this stage, and this was done to profit from an imminent partnership or M/A deal

Also, as I mentioned previously, belapectin has shown promising results in combination trials with Keytruda (Merck's blockbuster cancer drug), significantly boosting its response rate with few or no side effects, so I think it's also a good pick for any big pharma company looking to make an acquisition in the immunooncology area as well

Possibly.

Very interesting things are happening with IIPR though (a weed stock owned mostly by institutions, def not meme tier). Usually I use IIPR as an indicator of whether weed is down across the board. After two weeks ago's pump, IIPR fell with the rest of them, however IIPR is up 5.17% today despite other weed stocks tanking. IIPR rose during ACB's earnings call.

Obviously I'm just trying to find reasons to be bullish because I own 670 shares of ABC but still, it's bothering me that IIPR isn't down.

Even if it hits 6.50 tomorrow I'm gonna hold (be depressed as fuck looking at all that red though). Wednesday is probably when you'll see investors buy in/back in. It usually takes a day after earnings call for the dust kicked up by traders to settle. Someone may even tank it so they can buy up the stop losses and we'll be back at 7.20+ by 11am.

People are talking about the "world economic slowdown", this summer I wagecucked on a food truck going around to various festivals and events around MA; every time we did a BYOW cannabis festival we got slammed for 8 hours straight (opening to close). We'd run out of food and even propane for our fryers and steam table. Made like 4x the amount we normally do at a festival. I personally would make around 600 lbs of french fries and still end up having to cut fresh potatoes before the day was over.
Same shit happened at a Caribbean festival we did as soon as the clock struck 4:20 and everyone lit up.

No he will agree to the budget. And then take emergency power measures to build it himself through the executive branch. Since he has SCOTUS more or less on his side it will hold up in court. Emergency powers have been used for less and defense of the national border is in the express purview of the executive office.

>The Elliott Wave Principle, as popularly practiced, is not a legitimate theory, but a story, and a compelling one that is eloquently told by Robert Prechter.
>The account is especially persuasive because EWP has the seemingly remarkable ability to fit any segment of market history down to its most minute fluctuations.
>I contend this is made possible by the method’s loosely defined rules and the ability to postulate a large number of nested waves of varying magnitude.
>this gives the Elliott analyst the same freedom and flexibility that allowed pre-Copernican astronomers to explain all observed planet movements even though their underlying theory of an Earth-centered universe was wrong.

if u know any thots IRL or online you have to ask them what they and their friends are buying

even better, get some kind of IG/snap worldwide thot network so you can monitor their purchasing trends in every region

don't just assume a fashion brand can bounce back quickly; if a name goes out of style, they could be spinning their wheels for a few years before they find traction again. IMO the 30+ day restriction would suck the fun out of trading for me, it sounds suffocating and restrictive.
Maybe it is just my own limitation, I have a hard time thinking about the market in terms of monthly positions.

The way things are now, politically and in the commodities markets, there is a large amount of change week-to-week, so in your case I would still hold cash and only slowly buy in to individual stocks where you see good value.
Maybe some time in the next 6-18 months things will settle down, but until then 30 days is a long time.

(I also have the larger portion of my assets managed in boring boomer funds, but I have more fun and get proportionally more returns from my active portfolio)

and why we penalised every Euro/Chink/Jap firm that bypassed sanctions
