Hello /biz/, I'd like to use this thread to curate a helpful list of things us office wagies can do to cope with office wagie life, mostly including things at your desk/computer. What do you do to cope with being stuck in an office for 8+ hours a day with people you hate? We all know you only work 1-4 hours a day, so assuming your monitors are being observed (open plan) so browsing /biz/ is obviously right out, what can you do?

Here are some ideas:
-Listen to rainymood and outdoor background noise tracks
-Watch weather radar on 2nd monitor
-Watch flight radar on 2nd monitor
-Read news articles
-Secretly learn other tech/programming
-Look at nice art photos
-Explore google maps/earth
-???

If you’re being observed then all that shit is not work related and shouldn’t be on the computers. I’m not sure what you’re asking? If you can do some off topic activities then play chess or listen to podcasts or something.

Finding meaningful projects within the work environment. There must be something going on. Something to work on which will make society better.
Also, you can definitely get away with taking nice 5 minute walk-around breaks every 25 minutes under the guise of the pomodoro technique. Your boss will love that you are using a proven productivity increasing method.

Podcasts are great. Breaks on the hour and a long ass lunch.
