Have you ever quit a job before? Why? How did you go about it? Did you get a job somewhere better right after or did you quit with no job lined up?

I've quit three jobs, only once I had another one to go to.

I get sick of most things and become disillusioned, however cool it was at first.

Did you stick doing something like the same job or did you try something else?

>Quit a good job to go to the oilfield for instant 2x salary
>Gave 2 weeks notice and told them why
>They threw a party for me with cake on my last day and wished me the best
>My boss (female) gave me a warm hug on my way out
>Still wonder if leaving that job was a mistake

I quit driving pizza because i was promised first shot at a certain day off and didn't get it. A few hours after the schedule was posted i tossed all their shit in front of the store and rolled off.
Was rehired a year later. It felt good for about thirty minutes and while i was at the function i wanted off for, but it was personally embarrassing other than that.

You'll soon realize having a good job you can enjoy with people is worth a lot more than a job that pays more but will make you miserable in the long term.

Do you have a family that were in your interests? Then no. If not, then yes.

I once quit a job by text because they wouldn't give me my vacation even though I took it the same time every year for four years and told them at the beginning of the year when I was taking it. Their reason was I didn't submit it online. They wrote me up, then I quit. It was generally a shitty company to work for, forced OT, very understaffed, manager not helpful, etc. so probably for the best

First job was fast food, i quit in high-school going into grade 11 because they were working me 30 hours a week on top of school and I couldn't handle a 70 hour week without even factoring studying. I tacked a note saying "i quit as of today" on the board and never heard from them.

Second job was warehouse, trucks would come around back with their receipts and we'd load them up. Got the job boomer-style by walking in asking to walk to the manager. Quit when one of the guys whose truck I was loading asked me how much I got paid, laughed when i told him and gave me his roofing contractor card. Left that weekend.

Roofing guy was a genuine salt of the earth dude, even when I was working for him he kept ripping on me saying I had to apply for more jobs and do something besides construction. Only job I miss.

Now I'm an office wagie. I code.

No family at the time. I got laid off just over a year later and didn't feel too bad about it. I learned that, no matter what numbers they write on your paychecks, some jobs just suck.

>got into an accident that put me in the hospital
>was completely transparent about my 4 day absence
>had sick days available and followed doctors orders with a signed letter backing me up
>never missed excessive days before
>was always a stellar employee without complaints
>5 minutes into my return I get pulled aside to get chewed out 1-on-1 by the CEO
>he tells me I'm worthless, need to get my 'head in the game' and laments how everything fell apart while I was gone
>argue with him until he gets shaking mad and loses his composure
>meanwhile I still have a severe concussion
>decide to leave and go home
>put in my 2-weeks to VPs that next day
>mfw they ask why I'm leaving

This was the wakeup call I needed to remind myself that most employers don't really care about your loyalty. I spent the last 2-weeks loafing about, barely showed up, and royally fucked them by leaving without a replacement or documentation.

Icing on the cake was I ended up landing a job that paid 25% more and with 25% less pressure. I even got it within the 2-week notice period.

I've quit a load of places, I try to give 2 weeks if I like them. Sometimes you end up working for a piece of shit tho and you have do what you can to fuck em
