You need to understand so many pre reqs to understand why crypto is neccesary and inevitable. The fed is a good place to start. But to 14470284's point, people are so invested in their fictious measurements of "success" that theyve been working their whole lives towards. An analogy to people being mentally invested in fiat is college degrees. Most people can recognize that 99% of what you learn in college isnt going to help you perform a job better. Anything you can learn in a college classroom can be learned online these days in 1% of the time and for 1% of the cost, but hiring managers have invested their time, effort, and money, into that certification that tells society theyre smart. Maybe theyre even saving up for their kids to go to college too. You can see this discussion playing out with bernies college debt forgiveness bill. People have massive debt and no skills to help them do anything useful in the world. People whove paid off their debt are pissed because they sacrificed a lot to do that. Boomers are saying why cant we have mortgage forgiveness. But to admit that an iq test would be a better predictor of job performance would be a concession that theyve spent all their life thinking theyre smarter and better than people without degrees, when its not true. It makes their measurement of their own success irrelevant, and they WONT let self perceived success of theirs go without putting up a grueling mental fight against the new perspective.

I have a coworker who is smart but he only invests and trades commodities. He reads and studies economics and the commodities markets a lot. He doesn’t use a 401k or own any stocks and I realized it’s because he doesn’t understand them and thinks the whole market and stocks are going to crash. He hoards gold and silver, and he’s a millennial not a boomer.

I once talked to him about bitcoin and he couldn’t grasp where it’s value came from despite all his economics and commodities studying and trading. He couldn’t see the utility. He thinks bitcoin is worthless.

Recently I started calling these blockchain tokens crypto commodities around him. I got another coworker on Pi app and we are comparing how much Pi we had mined. He didn’t want to join or get the app. If Pi takes off he is gonna be red wojak.
