Slaves cost different amounts in different times. The British cracked down on the slave trade in the 19th century, driving the price up. In the 15th and 16th centuries you could enslave natives in the millions. Even in the 19th century you could enslave Amazonians for rubber.

Slaves don't cost a set amount. Strong males cost more than average, weak ones cost less. There's a huge range of factors that go into price and replaceability over a period of centuries, across two continents.
