Learn to code and combine it with a specialty. Think of it this way: being good at statistics + coding = data scientist

And from there, you can specialize with time series data, NLP, biostatistics, computer vision, autonomous systems etc

And if you pick up software engineering skills as a data scientist, then you can become a machine learning engineer. So all this exists simply within the data science field.

Now theres all kinds of routes you can take with cyber security, software engineering etc

IQ is bullshit. I have a high IQ and have a useless masters degree with first class honors so I know.
It's more or less a proxy of parental income or education while you were a child.
They've even done research that has shown that simply bumping up a parent's income by 1000 dollars can increase their children's IQ (probably because they get better at delayed gratification, and essential function of the prefrontal cortex).

My running theory is that IQ is basically a measure for how good of a bureaucrat you'd be (which obviously transfers to soulless office jobs as well as government departments), you'd be since the format of the IQ test and other IQ proxies like SATs and exams all descend from the Chinese Imperial Examinations.

I'll have to find the article, but they found that there was wide variance of men with High IQ and their income if you rated high on personal "agreeableness" you would earn less than people with other personality traits I can't remember. But basically it showed that people skills multiplies your earning power if you have IQ.

Point is, you can't think of IQ like this almighty cash reserve that can buy you saved time. You STILL need to learn domain specific skills and leverage them (which usually requires networking or salesmanship) in environments where people will pay you a hefty premium.

I haven't gotten that far yet, my intention was that if I found a personal project - something that either would save me many hours of work or, for example, a 'filter' for videos with a distinct look that I could either sell online for a few bucks or would help me get post-production work (because people would want the filter, and can only get it by hiring me).
Thing is a filter is way too complicated to start off with since I'd need to learn all about channel blending and colour spaces on top of learning a language.

So far I haven't figured out what that project would be useful enough that it'd be worth the time, but simple enough to start with.

Programming is a waste of time if you aren't already into it in your early 20s.

Tech companies have a literal endless supply of fresh grads. Once you hit 30+ you are pretty much fucked.

Programming is a good way of earning 6 figures right out of college. A waste of time if you're already in your mid/late 20s and beyond.

I'm actually a programmer myself and often outsource to 3rd world. These niggers are so stupid it takes them 20 hours to do the same work I do in 1 hour, and it's done so badly it pretty much needs to be redone.

3rd worlder can only do simple websites. Anything complex you can forget about it, they are basically retarded.

For example, 99.999% of all "programmers" in the world would never even get an interview at Google/Facebook/Amazon/Microsoft because they are simply too retarded.

It's amazing how retarded they are. It's actually hard to believe. It's something you gotta see with your own eyes to understand. So 3rd worlder really are not competition, unless you're a crappy web developer, which is barely programming really.

That's something that every experienced programmer knows. It's not cope, it's factual. You can't understand if you're not an experienced programmer yourself because you can't judge what is shitty, useless, unusable code like the 3rd worlder write.

Anyone with 110+ IQ that dedicates 5000 hours to programming can get a 100k-200k a year job in America. If you think that's about to change soon because of 3rd world, you are extremely misinformed, or maybe coping yourself because of your own bad life decisions.

no, it's becoming way more competitive than other careers. it will consume your whole life. this isn't the sort of career path that is satisfied after you put in your 8 hours a day. the market expects you to have side projects and dream in code too.

so do that then. pick a few small side projects and crank them out for the sole purpose of putting up on github to show off to employers. this goes a very long way when applying for junior level positions. I used to use whatever school assignments I had at the time plus things like project euler. just a handful of small algorithmic puzzles is enough.

This is extremely misleading, this entire thread is.
>don't learn coding
Do learn. Make some projects. Run a node for a popular or upcoming blockchain. Write a smart contract. Make an interface. Set up your own blockchain in Ruby.

If you are actively building, you will be able to find opportunities.. But you have to be able to think past the vitriolic negativity in your own mind and in this thread before you will be able to begin manifesting that outcome. What's your /played for shitposting? Gaming? Fapping? There are no silver bullets to slay your depression and inertia, you must incorporate the intent of your entire psychic or corporeal being to escape mediocrity and bestow yourself with creation through conscious effort.

While you shitpost and carry on with your self-hamstringing habits, some 38 year old mom lands a job as a front end dev simply for being honest, earnest, and making themselves visible via networking. You're either going to bitch about not having a womans "privilege" or use your brain for five minutes and own up to your own shortcomings when it comes to interpersonal communication. Go to a fucking meetup fot tech and grt over your adolescent fear of talking to people. You will be much harder pressed to find a job if you expect it to come to you in your fortress of solitude, self loathing, critical vitriol.

Pajeets can code. You need to learn how to create useful software that adds value to business.

That's the difference. A Pajeet is a worker drone with 0 input of it's own.
You are (I assume) a white human being capable of reflection and inner dialogue.

That is how you compete with Pajeet.

Pick something, javascript, python, whatever. Then practice enough to learn the basics, then go to a boot camp. Take it seriously and devote yourself to it fully and you can get good enough to get a entry level job. It will take you about a year and a half if you're good to learn on the job until you can start making serious money, but there is plenty of money to be made.
