Is "follow your dreams" a meme? How many of you tried to become something in a creative field or do a real business (i'm not talking about crypto).

no, i mostly jsut wanted to goof off, play video games, do drugs, and fuck girls.
doesn't take much specialization or effort to do that stuff

the people who say it doesn't never actually followed their dreams or they don't have them, most people quit early on because they don't have a real dream

Yes it works, but you have to be willing to work twice as hard as your peers to barely make the same amount of money. We live in an economy that rewards giving up your autonomy to be someone else's slave. The only upsides to following your dream is that you like what you do and you're not reporting to Mr. Goldstein.

I feel everyone in this world is reincarnated to keep learning different life lessons until we learn everything, then we live 1 perfect life, a life so perfect that after experiencing it fully you are reincarnated one last time (before moving up the spiritual/dimensional realms) to cause a permanent positive impact, a spiritual legacy that echoes through the lifes of millions of others spirits yet to be inspired by. This could be anything. A prophet, musician, poet, inventor, whatever role is needed for you to fulfill your final purpose on the world.

If you look at your life and feel its not perfect, then there is probably something you need to learn before you die.

it is more rewarding than anything otherwise, but its not for the faint of heart. You will likely fail and fail and fail and fail again, you will need to persevere and remain agile and diligent. The most important thing I finding the thing that truly makes you passionate and thrive. If you find that, it wont matter how much you fail or succeed as long as you can do what you love.

Yes, its a meme. The vast majority of businesses fail, and most successful ones either get lucky, or had money to start with. Unless “following your dream” entails making money for Mr. Shekelberg in a highly in-demand field of work, its usually a bad idea. Not always, but usually. Following you dream is something you do AFTER you make it.

you have an obligation to yourself to follow your dreams, you might not do it, but if you do not you will be full of regret on your death
success will be fulfilling indeed, but so will be failure after some time, since the thought of not trying will be way more destructive than you might imagine

I just have no dreams, I'm lost, I don't know what to do with my life and I've been on pause for like 5yrs. I have no passions.
I dont know what the fuck is wrong with me.
I use to have the spark in my eyes, but I also think that its slowly fading away.

If anyone has any good advices please tell me, I'm 25yrs old. I know life can not be perfect, nor do I care about life that much to take it seriously but sometimes these days come when I ask myself ''is this really all there is to it''

i never went to school to learn any marketing or programming or anything and i learned it all online over the last 6 years and still learning every day, i love learning
that being said, i followed my dreams, several of them, started at least 20 businesses, all failed but 2. of those 2, one did really well (making, marketing, and selling CBD oil) and i thought i had made it finally after all those failures only to get cucked by google pulling all of our ads because they considered CBD a drug and we were paying an SEO company during the first 6 months who got us on the front page for the keywords we wanted, only to get fucked by bigger competition that came in and bought ads everywhere that still allowed it as well as spent great amounts of money on SEO and we got pushed out. they also dropped prices and we couldn't compete, went out of business.
the 2nd one was a SaaS venture, went really well until our service was implemented into the platform directly. without saying too much, the platform we built this service for had users asking for it for over a year, i saw the opportunity, got my partner involved and we built what was wanted and charged a monthly fee, and when the platform saw how well we did, they copied our entire flow and chopped their prices for it in half and we bled members until we were in the red.
both times, i got fucked by competition and in a completely legal way, who had more resources and due to the nature of the businesses, we couldn't sell either one.
im just stressed all the time now, living on money saved from my 2 businesses and im running out and every idea since then has been a failure, but ill keep going until i either have a nervous breakdown or until i lose my house.
on top of all that, lost my girlfriend. she was great when we met which was after i finally started going out again because of my CBD oil business's success. thought she was real, she ended up leaving when things got rough and we had to move. thank god i still have my dog.

Unironically made money off some sites, dropped out uni, bought a couple houses, worked with my friends creating games and doing aff marketing out of my house for years, closed up when had a big loss of advertisers, went through a rough patch almost bankrupt, came back with crypto biznes the past few years. Ive made games, created product lines out of china, traveled around doing biz in Japan, married a super high earning gf after tfwnogf 10+ years. I followed my dreams, things could have been infinitely better, but it was okay, better than wage'n. I owe all my success to a burning hate towards normies from growing up poor and stacies rejecting me all throughout my youth. Without being such an outcast I might not have continued when things looked bad.

Today I feel the work have paid and also I have a huge wales position in chain link and fantom so everything is great. need only a wife and 3-5 white children. We all gonna make it (except brown people)

You’re never gonna make it. Your business will go bankrupt. Have fun seeing your women get gang raped by niggers while you masturbate and watch faggot. Everyone hates your kind, even your own women, and the most you will ever get is some thai whore who can’t even form a cohesive thought, and consider that generous cuz your kind will go extinct.

It's absolutely not a meme you just need some degree of realism

It's not a meme because if you don't do what you like (me) you will be suicidal. I make six figs and only daydream all day about quitting my job to pursue what I love (work for free for Sirgay). But golden handcuffs and whatnot.

>I have no passions.
That you know of. Knowing what to do with your life is a very difficult thing to figure out, but actively trying new things is a somewhat decent start.
I've been doing photography for years and it's extremely fun to express myself and experiment with new techniques. There's always something new to learn and improving your skills each year is quite fulfilling.
I'd recommend giving it a try.
