what you mean?
canada does not have a nationalized oil company, so no huge deal (significant part of the western provinces is oil dominated tho?)

if anything, australis is a big one to worry about, hydrocarbons in general are a large portion of their economy (various industrial metals make up the other big portions, which also may be seeing some hits from low demand soon....)

>>17680401
believe what you want, I really dont care

>>17680359
>is Russia all that dependant on oil exports though?
no, although it is a nice portion (like tech or aviation industry in america, not hegimon big, but still noticeable)
>I thought gas was their thing
with some easy chemical engineering one can be turned into the other (also where one is found, the other is usually nearby, if not in the same place)

>>17680554

Seasonal flu mortality rate is 0.05% while corona-chan's is 1-4%, so low-end 20x as lethal. Corona-chan is also far more contagious
>it'll stop spreading when it warms!
Flu is expectedly seasonal, it's R0 in winter is ~1.6 and under 1 in summer. Corona-chan's R0 is over 3 now (already well outside of flu season) and estimated to still be over 2 in summer, so while the speed of spread will slow, it won't be stopped.
>b-but treatments are just around the corner!
No. A vaccine is a year away at least. Antivirals don't work unless given within the first few days of infection, given the incubation period antivirals will be all but worthless. Monoclonal antibody therapy will be more effective, but is 6m out until trials, and still won't be very effective in advanced cases, indeed, Regeneron appears to be targeting their treatment as a prophylactic, probably mainly for healthcare workers treating the infected.

Japan government debt close to 300% yet they are still close to zero inflation and they say they have a lot room to ease
Switzerland printed 100%+ of their GDP in the last 10 years, imposed negative rates of -0.8% and their currency just got stronger
What makes anyone believe that the Fed which prints US$ - the world reserve currency cannot get to those numbers?
Current balance sheet is just 25% of GDP but because the US$ is a reserve currency they can probably sustain 100% of the world GDP which I believe is around 80 trln
Yes it seems crazy but get back 10 years ago and think about what we have now - it seemed totally crazy that central bank will monetize federal debt
So in our lifetime this charade can easily be sustained
They will just print 1 trln per year maybe increasing this number 10% per year. It will get stocks 10-20% per year growth on average indefinitely

They are heavily hedged, losing about 1-2% a quarter this last year since they think market fundamentals could deteriorate rapidly at any point. It hasn't been the smartest move, but their projected returns and information is rock solid. They just missed most of the cyclical indicators traders look at, they should've taken a more bullish approach until those fundamentals started deteriorating in 2018 really. They are a bed rock fundamental analysis though, equity markets will correct 60% minimum this time.

Kind of, mostly because I see large scale shifts in populations that are incongruent with market wide long scale investment strategies though. We invest and borrow money with future claims on resources being fundamental to this paradigm, but those resources are not materializing as we've seen over market behavior these past 20 years, and it's causing a lot of stress to the fundamentals. So unless zoomers plan on investing with 70 year timeframes in mind our current way of valuing most investments market wide will just not hold up in the future.

This week I'm pretty much just twiddling my thumbs waiting in cash. My plan is to eventually go 2x long once S&P generates a buy signal for me but with the way my TA stuff works that's minimum 3-4 days out unless there is a ridiculous high volume V reversal from here (not happening). May or may not short depending on how things look and if a setup forms that I'm comfy with.

I made the decision to switch to swing trading 90% 2x S&P and 10% commodities or individual equities in future. Seems like best time to make that move. I tried real hard to manage a portfolio of individual equities but it's too much time commitment and too many spinning plates to maintain, all to usually tie the index or beat it only slightly.

most of them are real, but the one you replied to isn't. The vast majority of hypocritical tweets that Trump made about Obama that also apply to him are very real. For example, he non-stop complained about Obama flying around to campaign using air force one, all while he's flew all around the country on taxpayer dime to show up to way more rallies than Obama ever did. Another example is him bitching constantly about Obama playing golf, and then he plays more golf than any president in history, again on taxpayer dime.
