Still, it is not bad to be able to do it.

I am far, far away from being in danger fo be laid off, because the corporate reporting is depending on me alone. I sit quite well paid and comfy in a job, where literally nobody can lay a hand on me, because I know hoe to get otherwise tedious shit done in a non-retarded way in a fraction of time it would need to do manually. Simply by using VBA, SQL, Python and a little bit C#.

Web development was a thing in mid-00, it rapidly began to crumble afterwards. The meme after was coding in general. Nowadays, being able to code AND knowing other stuff (finance, networks, marketing etc.) is something to look after.
