You can't even get a good job in tech at a good company these days unless you know somebody. It doesn't even matter anymore if you have internship experience and a giant Github. A lot of the small tech companies are owned by young, rich white guys that hire a bunch of pajeets to do the work for them for pennies, or for free most of the time while they fucking sit there and drink scotch and bang hookers in their offices with their other rich friends. It's basically an ingenious, modern form of slavery. It used to be you could just walk into a tech company and type a few lines of Java and they'd hire you on the spot. It's not like that anymore.

No, you won't work with the cool chicks from gfx-design. You won't design customer-facing iOS apps but internal, mediocre business apps. And you will barely make 6 figures.

Still pays the man and if you live a bit more frugally you can have a house and raise a family, just like boomers in the 60's before the Gordon Geckos came and told everyone they could be filthy rich.
