You put it in at the end so the other mining teams don’t have enough time to react and up their ante, thus securing sweet victory. Staking is no risk it’s just a way for them to lock up the tokens temporarily out of circulation and throw some more into your bag for participating, similar to Tezos staking. Also related to voting somehow but I haven’t figured out when/how to vote yet.

Or do your tokens auto return to your node wallet upon each days round ending (15 day wait only applying if you withdraw delegation early)?
