This is the thread for regular people who just have cash brokerage accounts. We cant day trade, buy on margin, and don't have 100k to get approved for options trading. If you are a noob or just dont have a lot to invest with this is the thread for you. Rich bois welcome to give advice. What are everyones plans for buying the dip today?

i cant honestly tell you, but I think most of them are probably simulating. I doubt a lot of people are trading options with normal brokers, which usually require you to apply and have requirements of 20k-50k in your balance. So my guess is they are using stuff like thinkorswim through TD Ameritrade, which lets you use margin and lower capital requirements or whatever to make calls. It just seems unlikely to me that people who actually are making that much money are wasting their time on /biz/. Someone correct me if im wrong, I am a noob afterall

>Also, opening early guarantees a second outbreak.

I dont understand why people say this. You realize that there is no opening "early", right? The virus is here to stay and the only reason for the lockdown was to make sure hospitals dont become overburdened. Theyre relaxing restrictions and watching hospitals closely to see if they get to a point where it's looking like they'll be overburdened, and if it is, then they'll stop at whatever restrictions they currently have in place. If hospitals continue to be able to handle the influx, then things will continue to return to normalcy while we open things up again.

The point of lockdowns isnt to prevent corona deaths. Those are going to happen anyway unless people stay locked up inside for the rest of their lives/until they maybe develop an effective vaccine/treatment.

I'm suggesting to work out a concept for a smg parallel thread. Aimed at people who want to discuss investing, stock picks, options... at a non memery level. Slower, comfy and higher quality.
Make it unattractive to brainlets so that they default to smg.
>No "General"
I don't know what it is about that word but it always attracts brainlets and autists.
>No acronym
Makes it a little bit harder to find.
Not as memery
>No OP pasta
Either no OP pasta or put some math and uni level text book exerpts in the op.

Looking for opinions on FAST. I'm thinking of investing soon. Debt is 0.49 years of cash flow it has a ROE of 30.77 and a ROIC of 25.99 and has a pretty decent moat. I've done many valuations and I know the price I want to pay for it it's not anywhere near that price now but what does the internet think?

>> No.18805260

>>18805173
It's extremely overvalued right now. I wouldn't buy for less than $30 and that's still pushing it because I'm so uninterested in the company I would only get in at $8.7 (which I realize is severely undervalued).
If you really want it, write puts until you get assigned. This will at least lower your cost basis enough that it might be worth getting at market price.

I follow the Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett, Phil Town style of value investing the money isnt made on the buying or the selling of a stock it's made in the waiting. Am I able to understand the business. Is there some kind of moat or intrinsic durable competitive advantage? How is management doing? And finally the price has to make sense with a margin of safety due to the natural vicissitudes of life. If you have all that buy buy buy

Right that's why Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, Carl Icahn, David Einhorn, mohnish pabrai, guy spier are all broke lol. Buy when there is blood in the streets and wait in cash until then. Look at the Wilshire GDP the market is way way overbought and overvalued.
