About 2 or 3 million if I keep living frugally like some FIRE nerd. I don't really consoom that much, it doesn't take a lot of money to make me happy. However, I'd like some more free time to really get going with my personal projects, and 3 million would buy that.

It will never be enough, I want my children to have to work less hours and enjoy more of their lives. Hopefully I can pass so much money and wisdom onto them that nobody in my family will ever have to work again and they can all live off the interest and attain true freedom.

Putting a specific number as "making it" is retarded. You just end up in a mental trap where once you hit that number it's still not enough. The reality is nothing happens when you hit arbitrary number. Learn to be happy at whatever level you're at an you'll always be satisfied.

I was thinking of setting it up so each descendant gets inflation adjusted $100k for each kid they have or something like that. And if someone is abusing the system by not caring for their kids it would take a vote of 66% or more of the other descendants to strip you of any further benefits.

About $1.5MM or $2MM for me. That's when I would feel like I could live a normal life without having to worry about money for the rest of my life. I would $5.5MM to feel like I could do almost anything I want and not worry about money.
I'm currently at $800k. I dont feel like I have /made it/, but I buy pretty much buy everything I want, travel where/ whenever I feel like it, eat whatever I feel etc. without worrying about th cost. I don't have very expensive tastes and spend probably spend less money than most lower middle class wagies. For the most part all I need to be happy is a good computer, good food, a comfy home (nothing big though) and travelling a few times per year.

The real american dream for me is to live comfortably doing something you enjoy, regardless of the money it makes. Something something song, something something simple man.
