I have never traded bitcoin or invested in my life, so I have to ask. Why isn't it possible to buy a dip, wait for the value to grow a little bit and then sell for guaranteed cash? Sure it wouldn't be much money but youd still grow your assets.

Good idea, go try it out.

You can, but trying to do this all day everyday you will lose your fucking mind

Okay anon, let's go to the next step in the process, rebuying in, when do you do it? When it dips to where you originally bought? What if it doesn't dip to that level? It's a bit more complicated than you think bud.

If this is not a troll thread look up "reversion to the mean" in trading.

It works, but has a couple of pitfalls, eg what if the dip isn't the bottom but it keeps going down?

Fair enough, but still, why do people buy stocks/bitcoin when it's exploding upwards and then hold onto it, doesn't that end in a popped bubble every single time?

Because people are emotional and dumb, and market makers know this well. Why haven't you ever traded before? It's probably the exact same reason.

Because I've heard quite a few horror stories about this and never really heard of anyone, especially from this board, "making it". Although I am considering trying it out.

The charts keep me sane.

A lot of anons made it. They're just made it so hard they don't concern themselves with us poor people and so they don't bother to post here again. Imagine being here for years with people constantly trying to bait you into selling by posting false info, imagine years of pajeet trying to scam you. after making it, wouldn't you want nothing to do with this place? They go and stay go. That's what i would do.

you seem reasonable. if you do what you just described, you're fine. all the people you hear horror stories from are literally retarded. i haven't "made it" but i have 35 bitcoin and $120k sitting in usd which is more than enough to live off. i just spot buy from time to time after a crash, if it crashes again i buy even more. eventually it pumps and i sell some. most of the time it pumps much more than i would expect, so i only sell a few bitcoin so that i still have some to sell later. i've only been making profits for the last years. you can only get fucked if you're too exposed and forced to close your position at a loss. it can asily happen to you if you trade with leverage. also i hear people having stress from trading, while i'm having maximum levels of comfiness all the time. just trade with spot positions and only use a fraction of your capital for every trade. this shit made me quit my job more than a year ago and it was by far the best year of my life
