People love to parrot this line with no thought. If tether looks like its going to shit people will flee to Bitcoin RAISING its price. Think about it, the exchanges where tether is used don’t have USD options, if tether is looking shaky people will trade that tether as fast as they can into the most stable asset they can, which is bitcoin, plummiting tether price, raising bitcoin price. Will people then sell that BTC for USD? Maybe, but most people won’t be able too because they have no access to USD exchanges, leading to a net gain on BTC.
