>What's the point of staking if the price is volatile?
Over time in theory price goes up as stabilization occurs through guaranteed returns via staking. Price can go up or down but you're always paid high interest, more so as others unstake. Genius as it gives you better returns the more others depart creating balance. Hex does absolutely everything it can to protect what matters most - price - in the fantastically volatile land of crypto. Combining crypto gainz with stability has the potential to be a paradigm shift in investment with the potential to break crypto. Hex is meta, understanding what cryptocurrency really is. Good luck and DYOR.

It's been so much fun to see the trend in perception over time. I remember when the Ethereum Genesis Whale locked in their stake. Back in March I was here when this basically broke the charts and everyone was wildly calling it a scam and p&d. After a few months you could tell people actually did the research and the whole "scam!" thing died off for the most part.

I actually love the fact that this looks illegitimate because it provides a barrier of entry. Everyone that just goes ad hominem on this coin you can literally tell hasn't done research. It filters out the morons and people that for whatever reason don't take the time to understand it. On the surface it looks like a "scam" (Heart covers the reasons for this extensively). But the more research you do on it, the more you realize not only that there's never been a cryptocurrency designed like this, and that it's design is bulletproof, but this project is the best thing that could ever happen for what cryptocurrency is.

Exactly. The perception around it is a bit annoying, because the criticism is very low quality, but the barrier for entry does provide utility. People smart enough get in now (and stake) and they are likely to be oriented more towards the long term and have stronger hands. The rest can buy the top whenever it moons.

>> No.20495075

>>20494621
First off DYOR, but if you think that it's run out of gas or are more bearish than bullish I would advise this:

Big Pay Day is an event that occurs in December, it is a day after which people are paid out high interest on their stakes. Therefore, arguably, a lot of bears will be exiting the market (as they take their high ROI's), thus potentially dropping the price of Hex. If this occurs the price of Hex gets cheap and there will be deals to be made. However it probably won't last long and should be volatile. Impossible to say exactly. In fact I predict more of a curve than a spike because why sell if the price is low? Might as well wait/stake it till you make it. But I have ETH saved up to potentially re-buy in if I can catch some downward spikes during that time.

>> No.20495944

>>20495506
No, a ponzi is a specific thing. That's why I said semantics are important. In fact this is almost the crux of the argument against Hex. The arguments against Hex are muddled in words that have become meaningless when used improperly.

Ponzi loses its meaning if the definition of the word becomes arbitrary. Same thing with scam. You're starting to break the word. "Scam this! Scam that!" Well then what meaning does the word have now? Many arguments are lost in the haze of semantics because language isn't a clear bridge to another persons thoughts.

We can argue Hex without using these words to help clarify things, but you don't see a lot of arguments like that.

>a ponzi is just when the only expected return is future investors paying more because there's no underlying anything and no utility

You've created your own subjective definition based on your own ideas. This definition has nothing to do with a ponzi. And it's fine, but it's not going to win you a lot of arguments.

The utility of the coin is to pay high ROI. It's a coin that's designed to be a high paying CD (a CD with the bank typically pays out 1-2%). Because this concept is so new with crypto however, people are hesitant with the idea. They need another form of utility, but what's insanely ironic is that crypto has never found any utility outside of being a speculative investment/store of wealth. When was the last time you used BTC to buy/sell anything? Anyone here? Rhetorical question, it's simply not used. When was the last time anyone here used crypto to do anything but invest in crypto? Look up statistics on actual usage, it's very interesting (usage is actually dropping).

I'm not going to argue that *insert your coin here* eventually finds it's "utility". And it gets you that Lambo. But designing a coin around the fact that crypto is an investment, and thus does everything in its power to protect the thing that matters most (price), is an incredibly incredible boon for crypto.

>you need fresh money pouring in, doesn't matter if its link or hex. Old guys sell to new guys, rinse repeat.
That's how every single speculative asset works, whether it's Coca Cola, Tesla, Amazon, BTC or HEX. Value goes higher because people keep buying hoping it goes even higher until the price crashes and people sell at a loss thus giving away their money to those who keep holding. Rinse and repeat. Yes.

>nothing else than a staking coin
Exactly. What is amongst the top 3 most popular investments at a bank? Checking, savings, CD. People invest because they want their money to go up. People invest in crypto because they want their money to go way up.

>>20496149
Fiat inflates, the most poular currency ever designed. Inflation is structured to lock at less % than Bitcoin ever inflated. And inflation is specifically designed around the % of stakers. Hence, it pays out the most to the people that stake the most, the people most invested in the project. What a concept. Meditate on when this coin strikes that balance of stakers and traders. You can swing trade it all you want, but eventually it's going to find a balance (even if it's worth less than it is now). The APY never stops paying the best returns it can however. The more people that exit the market, the more the APY goes up. Balance. This thing is designed to be the fucking S&P500 of crypto.

Yes you could put it that way. But you could literally distill any investment into that formula because the only way you get paid on an investment is if people buy in after you. You're minting your own coins in Hex. The project is finished. There are no roadmaps and it's not beholden or reliant on any partnerships (which have never done anything for crypto).

If ROI pays out 15% today (not even accounting for BPD), then why not invest? ETH2.0 won't pay that (and you'll need a validator and 32 ETH). Link won't pay that (you'll need a node). No other crypto is so singularly focused on simply being an investment platform. It doesn't fucking want your partnerships. XRP is partnered with every bank on the planet. Crypto, at the time of this writing is a speculative investment, full stop.

I get your mentality. You want a coin that does something. But the lines can be blurry in this regard. Hex most certainly does something.

FUCKING IDIOT
TRADITIONAL INVESTMENTS INVOLVE BUYING INTO CONTROL OF AN ACTUAL ASSET
THIS IS JUST A PONZI. YOU WANNA SPLIT HAIRS THAT ITS NOT A PONZI BECAUSE ITS UPFRONT. FUCK YOU.

Can we speak in pragmatic terms? When was the last time you had any shareholder control? What I said is true.

>Ponzi
We're starting to slip into semantics again. Focusing on definitions that have become abstract. If a "ponzi" is designed to pay me the highest returns it possibly can, while being upfront about it, then I'm all for it. I won't split hairs with you because the word Ponzi doesn't even matter anymore does it? There's never been a crypto designed like this and it's a fucking no brainer. Your utility coins are ironically based on the most fantasy and hope. They live and breathe on hype, while Hex is the most transparent coin ever to exist, it's a finished project and you can read the code yourself. A coin that already does what it's designed to do!

So it's down from the spike. But here's what's happening and keep this in mind, this is all verifiable and you can check everyone that's buying and selling because of the transparency that's built into the coin.

A day ago, this was sitting around 50% for top 100 holders. Now it's at 46% A few months ago top 100 holders had 60% The early investors are cashing out and the coin is becoming more decentralized. Keep your eyes on this holders graph, the top 100 holders have been shrinking over the months. Also, I've never seen a more decentralized graph at this market cap. Only projects that have better holders charts are tiny projects, and even they rarely have charts this good.

Biz is largely still in the denial phase. They want it to fail, which is understandable since they missed out on significant gains already. They don't want to accept that Richard, the OA and FA are all assets to the project. Anger and bargaining will begin when we start reaching into the top 10 and gatekeeping begins to stop. Depression as we pass XRP and acceptance when we hit the number one slot.
