I bought under 50 USD. My understanding of money and bitcoin is in the top percentile, if you think something is going to beat bitcoin, you simply haven't studied enough. I don't even know why I'm telling you noobs this, should let you waste more money.

dont care about any websites, e-commerce sucks, sending messages is worthless. feels good to be all in on AOL. It's too big to fail and everything that's not on there that's needed will be added to it later.

I'm buying simple because of its quantitative hardening as a store of value. That's it, really it doesn't have many other use cases. I wont ignore other coins though.

Somethings to look up
What is a sybil attack?
What is network effect?

>> No.20491652

>>20491388
>What is a sybil attack?
A sybil attack is a result of access being restricted only through identities that are easily and costlessly replicated (e.g. spam mail, reddit upboats). The hashrate takeover you probably mean is a 51% attack that is tied to costly mining equipment. All protocols with tokenomics gain takeover resistance as they get bigger, so using Bitcoin's size as an argument is like saying "it should be big because it's big." Cargo cult logic.
>What is network effect?
Something MySpace had, and something that the Ethereum ecosystem has much more of than Bitcoin's at this point. Nobody uses the BTC network for anything, yet every time some crypto faggot posts a browser screenshot you see the Metamask icon up.

Every bitcoin output has a unique history tied to it as part of its provenance. This is not only bad for privacy but actually means bitcoins aren't fungible. https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1967/what-is-fungibility-and-why-does-it-matter

A basic observation but there is a cult around BTC who enforce an orthodoxy of glossing over it.

BTC will eventually be rendered intrinsically worthless when the unmined supply runs out because of blockstream's implementing of systems to handle all/the majority of transactions off-chain (miners will get no/far fewer rewards, and thus have no reason to mine)

speculation, in addition to the guarantee of there being real value backing a coin can still occur, even when the certain death of the coin is still carved in stone some 100 years down the road
hell—blockstream could even implement some rube goldberg fuckery to bring back intrinsic value to the coin's post-unmined-supply-exhaustion phase
the fact of the matter stands—no mechanism for there being intrinsic value to the coin, no intrinsic value

Tokens built on eth have mooned and now worth more than eth itself. Eth token hasn't accrued any of that value, it's purely a utility token for gas. Eth monetary policy is completely fucked which is why they will keep their hands on the dials to try and tweak it forever with PoS and EIP1559. That won't be the end of it either because they will just continue to change it whenever vitalik spazzes out about some new research paper

Everyone in crypto whether they own Bitcoin or not knows there is a 21 million cap and nobody can change it. Blocks are kept small which creates demand for space, allowing a fee market to secure the network. A backlog of transactions instead of an empty mempool ensures miners are incentived to keep moving the chain forward instead of fucking around with reorgs. These incentives protect the 21 mil cap from inflation which means Bitcoin and land are still the only thing on earth you can buy with strict scarcity.

Eth can make as many changes to its monetary policy as they want but the simple fact that they have been changing in the first place means it will always be inferior. Bitcoin has been like this from day 1 of the network

Also everyone that thinks market dominance is going down is completely retarded. Go look how many coins have several hundred million dollar market caps that nobody has even heard of. These coins have zero liquidity, but they mint a billion tokens out of thin air and then sell a couple for 50 cents so all of a sudden they have a 500 mil market cap.

Btc dominance hasn't budged in real terms, it's just that the number of shitcoins with no liquidity and fake volume have mooned over the years
