Somebody bets that Amazon is going to go down and they pay me a premium and I buy another bet to hedge against it. As time passes, it becomes more certain that Amazon is not going to drop $250 so the value of the contracts I wrote decrease. At that point I can "buy back" the contract I wrote for like, 2 cents per share even though I originally sold it for say, 89 cents a share.

>>20869316
There's obviously still some risk if you're doing options near earnings but as you can see, even Amazon who blew EPS by 650% (that's INSANE) only went up by 4-6%. The same goes for bad earnings, most companies won't drop 7-8% even while reporting bad earnings unless it's some real bad news shit like Intel.

So I generally stick to high volume, medium volatility megacaps like FB, AAPL, AMZN for these spreads. I win like 99% of the time on these trades because the strikes are so safe but I still make 10-15% per trade. It's great!

Yes you need some cash or stocks to write the options if you're ONLY selling them. I'm writing spreads, so you can still make an AMZN spread play for $500 collateral if you choose strikes that are $5 apart (1 contract = 100 shares = $5 difference per share = this is your total risk for that spread)

amzn is a stock that goes up like fb, because it's a risky trade. less risky than fb probably. people dont bother to buy it at these prices, and it probably keeps going up because big tech are money magnets globally, all around world
people buy big nasdaq tech and dollar. but when it dumps, it dumps 30-40% _overnight_ trading or flash crash, and there is nothing you can do about it, that's just how the slow big climbers always trade at the end.

My read on Biden is that he's not going to want to hurt the markets, except for the platforms like climate change and increasing tax rates at the top that the party will force compliance on.

Biden is bad for Oil & Gas, possibly good for infrastructure, consumer staples, utilities and alternative energy. If it ever starts to look like Biden is going to walk away with the election, I'd go long on CAT on a green jobs bill and NEE for the possible alternative energy windfall.

i mean it's amazing but my idea is mostly just that they're very strong companies that will continue to perform even more strongly because of the covid situation and everything being moved more and more to the digital realm. obviously the biggest companies in this sector will benefit hugely from it. i don't know exact numbers or anything like that if that's what you're asking, but it should be pretty obvious that these companies are and will continue to flourish under these circumstances, it's just common sense.

it's less about knowing they'll "beat even the most optimistic fringe estimate" and more along the lines of "they will absolutely do well. how well is debatable, but they will do well." get it? but obviously again, this would be for long-term fundamental traders, and i have no idea what your risk or take profit would be, how you'd structure DCA'ing or whatever like that, that's not my game. it's like AMD, i was telling people months ago that it really doesn't matter where you buy in because it will absolutely reach new ATH's at some point, by the time the new consoles are released if not before then. and look at it now. but you would have had to wait months and i wait through all of that ranging that happened, and i like to make my money every day so i don't bother with that. but you could definitely do it if that's your style. i like sure things in general and that's one of them.

what worries me about Trump is that he could get away with that conspiracy theory nutjob "grab 'em by the pussy" action before covid. when the economy was booming, unemployment was at a record low, stock market was hitting new ATH's, China was (seemingly) chilling the fuck out on the trade war, he could get away with being the bad boy. but he can't fucking keep doing that shit now in post-covid era where everything is fucked beyond belief. yet he keeps doing this dumb shit, like talking about mail-in voter fraud conspiracies recently which literally the entire republican party members rejected outright.

he keeps doing it though. and it's just making it less and less likely he'll be reelected, because you can't keep pulling dumb stunts like that when everything is fucked, only when everything is booming and you have that wind at your back. before covid, no one could tell Trump shit because the economy was awesome. now it isn't yet he's still saying and doing the dumbest shit, it's unreal, as a Trump supporter i hate it but what can you do? even though i know Biden is just a puppet for the deep state, i wouldn't be surprised if he won ultimately if Trump keeps doing/saying dumb shit (like Cain dying recently because he didn't wear a mask at a recent Trump rally where they didn't require masks to be worn, got covid 2 weeks later and fucking DIED) he's gonna lose to a dude with dementia, it's the dumbest fucking shit i hate this timeline.

Hopefully you bought 1/15/21 calls..? If you, you can lower the cost of your calls by selling calls for a closer date (the short) above your breakeven price.

Example: 1/15/21 $50c @ $3, your breakeven is $53. Sell calls above the $53 strike, weekly probably, to scalp some money here and there. If it somehow moons to $54, you can still exercise the 1/15/21 $50c and your average cost for those shares will be $53, which you can then sell to the other guy for $54 (the call you sold). Try that!

Intel is still a perfectly healthy company with great profitability - they may not be as well managed as AMD but their revenue is literally 10x that of AMD. This massive sell off makes absolutely no sense if you look at how Intel still controls the business and oem markets, as well as services the datacenter markets for the foreseeable future. AMD created an excellent product with Ryan but they will have to maintain that dominance for at least 5 or more years to even hope to capture a significant market space. Hell, Ryzen has been competing well for 2 years now (since 2000 series) and people are still buying Intel in consumer PCs because to the average customer Intel = better. That image has been beat into their brains for decades and it will take a long time for that to reverse. AMD is clearly overvalued and Intel undervalued if you consider these criteria.

Anyone with critical thinking has already identified modern sports pipeline as the same thing as the music pipeline: Jews thwarting talented whites to put the worst niggers on a pedastal, and to influence your children.

AMD is overvalued, but:
>They are locked in for both XBox and PS5 consoles (likely 7+ year cycle)
>Intel marketshare is dropping for non-OEM/local builders
>Ryzen laptops are absolutely destroying Intel ones for price/perf -> this will only get worse as time goes on until Intel can catch up
>AMD has a GPU division, and Intel's recent dGPU attempt was garbage and they are trying to pivot it into something else (probably just some compute thing). But they couldn't compete at all with AMD or Nvidia on any level with their prototype dGPU offering

Intel has way better volume, but their flagship products are being challenged by AMD, and they have shown they can't compete in other areas (like GPU). Intel is bad at doing new stuff. They failed

>FPGA/Altera
>NUC/Atom/Android
>MicroPCs (Compute Card)

But I think Intel Has shown their lack of opportunities for growth in the medium term which hurts the time value of money on their stock. AMD showed the opposite. YOu can say INTEL will always remain king, but that means mainting the 200billion market cap whereas AMD has more room to grown out of 90 billion. The current AMD PE is inflated because it's almost done pricing in the next 10 years' worth of inflated profits. AMD is eating up the majority of serverspace that intel currently controls. This has 2 effects:
- It tanks intel, of course, but keep in mind that intel controlled virtually 100% of performance installations (i.e. all servers, all computing environments, all home computing)
- There was no path for AMD to breakthrough until now, which boosts AMD prospects sky-high. However, we will only see the results in ~2-3 years. This is why the PE is currently so high, that's approximately what it's aimed at.

Moreover, AMD has an exclusivity deal with every next-gen console, including atari's. This is due to their GPU division.
- Their GPU division never did particularly well (originally why ATI sold out to AMD, they were struggling against nvidia). Suddenly they have massive amounts of forced sales. This is not expected to hold for the generation after that, but starting next year and for the next 3-5 years, this is guaranteed massive income for AMD.
- Intel has no chance to keep up or overcome AMD in the CPU space for the next decade because they're dead in the water process-wise, and their image is completely dead due to the spree of security issues they encountered.
- By securing profit without competing with nvidia, AMD has gotten a golden opportunity where there was no prospect before. This not only increases value, but also promises more such opportunity in the future, permanently raising expectations.

Overall, for a 5+ years hold, the current fair PE for AMD is anywhere under 200 for the rest of the year. This PE-based fair valuation, of course, diminishes over time, and should be around ~50-80 in 3 years.
For example, AMD's 5 year EBITD growth rate is almost 100%. Industry average is only about 12%, and intel's is less than 7%. AMD is effectively "INTC + NVDA", not just intc.

Shit doesn't change overnight, but when time comes for companies to buy more servers, you really think they're going to keep buying intel down the road? Maybe they will, but only with crazy rebates on Intel's part.

I wouldn't touch Intel until there's certainty they have a competent chief engineer or CEO this time. If Intel decides to outsource permanently to TSM, that's also bad for Intel since their foundries are huge.
